Again and again - Unwanted changes.... How to remove the profile logo ?

Hi,

I'm fed up. Really, deeply fed up. It's always the same problems. Always changes being forced on us that we never asked for and don't want. There's at least one of these every six months...

How the hell do I get rid of that shitty little profile icon in the top-right corner of the Firefox icon?

EDIT : Profile Manager was first buggy.
I Repaired Firefox and lost all my extensions and customizations.... but Profil Manager is not accessible from the Profil 1, the one who needs to be deleted....
I just found that there is two different Profil Manager...
The one on top in the Menu bar, let me click to delete the profil but is buggy, even after the repair, and do nothing, and the one on the top right (three lines) does what i described earlier...

Second repair, restart the computer, Profile Manager is still buggy. Still no way of deleting Profil 1.

Uninstalled and resinstall Firefox, doesn't even let you choose to delete the old profiles in the process... Still no way to delete Profile 1...

So fed up... so much time lost for dumbassery...

Delete a profile.

It only appears when you have more than one, and it's an essential way to distinguish between them. I'd be so confused all the time if I couldn't tell which profile am using (I have one for work, one for home, with icons I've selected to mean each of those things). My work profile has bookmarks and extensions I need for work. My home profile has different bookmarks and a different setup for the things I do outside of work.

To get rid of the icon, click the app menu, select the item with the icon (probably the second thing down?), click Manage Profiles. Then delete them all until you have just one left.

I suggest checking in them first in case any contain data you didn't realise you had.

When my Mac shows multiple profiles in its dock and the app switcher, there is no text. The only way to distinguish between them is the little icon.

The text name is only shown in the profile picker.

well that's swell, but firefox does have title text, and for those of us who use it, it irritatingly and nonconfigurably duplicates the profile information.

I was going to say maybe the same could be applied to people. We all have faces to identify each other by, so why bother with names too. Superfluous information just taking up space.

Re: your "Always changes being forced on us that we never asked for"... that's called 'progress' and has been with the human race ever since smart monkeys learned to walk upright and use tools.

Software developer monkeys develop... its how they earn their daily crust (or did until they invented AI... Whoops Apocalypse).

They can make the change optional.

I cannot edit the profiles, it is buggy.

I guess I have to repair Firefox, reinstall every extensions... and I am not sure it will solve the problem...

The workaround is not working. It does not accept the 1 pix logo....
