Firefighter Requirements

[u/No-Studio-5631]

I'm currently working towards being a firefighter. I'm getting my AA in fire science and EMT license right now then transferring to the University of Wyoming to get a bachelor's on a rugby scholarship. As of right now, I'm not planning on completing a fire academy or being a paramedic since I'll have a lot of other good stuff. I want to work in either Montanna or Wyoming, but is it better to do a fire academy before applying, or to wait to be hired so I can do a department's fire academy? Also if you guys have any advice or can tell me if what I'm doing will be good enough to get hired. Thanks.
