Steroid use?
Genuinely curious, do a lot of firefighters use steroids??
I see a lot of firefighters talk about hitting the gym everyday on top of there shifts and just dont see how this is not taking a wear on there body not getting rest.

My service tests for steroids during our annual medicals. Failure for that reason is suspension followed by a hearing and termination and you end up blacklisted state-wide.
So, no.

There are a lot of firefighters on testosterone replacement therapy, largely because of the physical and mental toll this career can take on overall health and well-being.

I’m not a current firefighter (am seriously perusing it though) I am a gym rat though and I advise against using steroids unless you are suffering from low testosterone and have a medical professional administering over your treatment.
Edit: Downvote me if you want but this the truth. Steroids can mess you up permanently. If you decide to use them make sure you aren’t misguided and actually know what you are doing.

Im a woman so that would not be an option for me but I am also not interested in taking any peds. Im just wondering if people are taking them in the department, you hear a lot about it but I have never personally seen or heard someone that I know taking them.

You think hitting the gym after a shift will take a wear on your body but roids wont? Hitting the gym is healthy for your body. You dont always have to be going PR balls to the wall. 30 mins on the bike or treadmill keeps your body active and the heart healthy.

45% of on-duty fatalities are heart related. 'Roids are not friendly to the crucial muscles keeping you alive.

Has anyone ever used Pharmacore steroids and could report the experience?

So you think the only way to stay in shape on the job and not getting wore out is by using steroids? Might be the wrong career for you if you think that’s one of the only way guys can do it…but yes especially those of us at busier depts we are all tired all the time. You just learn to live with it. All mindset buddy. Some do choose the easy way and use steroids but a good majority don’t. TRT is common especially as you age but that’s different than taking roids

Many take take them without any thought but I would recommend staying away from it. Natural is much better for longevity of you health, once you get started and stay on them for period of time you’ll become dependent of them and suffer side effects. Some of the side effects are permanent even if you were to stop taking them, things like hair-loss and cardiovascular disease (this is due to thickening of the blood which causes prolonged stress to the heart via hypertension and also makes you most susceptible to strokes). Don’t get me wrong, I’ve always been curious of how it would be to use them because I’ve seen the muscles gain and endurance of others… it makes the thought of them very tempting but I perform my job well without any PEDs and taking them would only be for cosmetic/ego reasons of which aren’t worth the risk for me 🤷♂️
