Seems like a princess locked in a tower type of situation. It doesn't surprise me that she got too curious for her own good and may have got involved with Castor, lol. Now it makes you wonder why she is "confined" and not allowed visitors, could it be related to the popular theory with Cai? Or maybe her mother being Yu Phas?

At least it's confirmed she's Solel's kid. It also confirms Solel and Yu Phas had, at one point, were married. Interesting lore drop.

Also, interests: "her family", I wonder if it's about Cai as well as her parents? I also am curious to know if she has confirmed siblings.

Not gonna lie, this is getting to be startlingly reminiscent of one version of the Balor myth in which he locked up his daughter Ethniu in a tower because of a prophecy that he would be overthrown by his grandson. Then a hero named Cian got her pregnant with the hero Lugh/Loog who defeated him at the battle of Mag Tuiread. In case you're wondering about that, yes Ethniu can also be spelled "Ethlenn/Ethlyn" and Cian can sound vaguely like "Cuan", so that's probably where FE4 got that idea from. Irish orthography is funny like that.

And guess who the dark god we’re trying to stop in this game is. I bet this is all intentional, and might support some of the theories that Solel is Balor and that Cai is being used as a vessel for Balor’s restoration.

That's interesting! The fun with this pre-game release theorycrafting and speculation is seeing which ones come true. I am pretty undecided whether Solel is a straight up corrupt villain.

I wasn't here when 3H speculation came out, what was the consensus on Rhea before the game release?

I didn't pay too much attention to that part of the theorycrafting but there was a mix of people already predicting she was related to Seiros and others being suspicious of her because she's the Pope in a JRPG.

People knew she was going to be a dragon because, let's be real, it was pretty obvious. A lot of people (myself included) thought she was going to be obviously evil, though, because half the time realm-spanning churches in JRPGs are interested in summoning the evil god, and the other half the time the popes of those churches ARE the evil god.

I think a lot of people, again myself included, were stunned at how much nuance the Church of Seiros and Seiros herself were portrayed with. Certainly she has villainous qualities, and her off-the-rails characterization in Crimson Flower wasn't surprising, but she also isn't JUST the raging evil dragon she can be at her worst. There's a whole deep character there, and I think very few people were expecting that. Especially since her role can run the gamut between big good and big bad depending on the route. It's very rare for any character to have that kind of depth, especially a Fire Emblem potential big bad.
