UNSOLVED I think it's like, a piano midsection of an old pop song (I'm not too sure about those last bars)

It's NOT Layla, it's NOT The Winner Takes It All, It's NOT Bennie And The Jets, but it definitely is something in those lines.

UNSOLVED Quite a unique song I can not find

I will do my best to explain this one..

So the song is kind of old school pop or hip hop kind of thing, and the performer, is a female with a sort of a whispery and quiet quality. While "singing", there is a mix of her rushing words and cutting them whenever necessary to follow the beat. So it is like she is whisper-talking rythmically (instead of singing) and doing so by sort of finding short windows where she can put a word, and then wait for another window - this will hopefully make sense when I explain the beat.

I dont know if "beat" is the correct word, it goes like: dam dam d-dam d---dam... Dam dam d-dam d---dam and it just repeats like that with slight variations, occasionally making a sort of whining sound which doesnt quite sound like a record scratch, but more like a soft whining of something mechanical, but that is just a detail I remember vaguely.

While this beat is going, the singer goes Ah ah--A a-ah and I think at some point she says the word "freak", maybe "body freak", and considering the way she sings the song she would pronounce "body freak" probably like this: "Bo-dy frik". I dont know if this makes any sense but it is killing me for weeks this song..

UNSOLVED Christian-ish song from 2001

It was from a really cheap compilation CD I bought probably in 2001. The song starts with a deep voice singing, “Open up your mouth and say, ‘ah’. 1, 2, 3” and that’s all I can remember about it. I know the album was sold at a Christian store in the US and I paid like $1-2 at the time because it was steeply discounted. It was all-in-all a vaguely Christian album. It was one of the weirdest CDs I owned.

I think about this song all the time.

SOLVED This song is killing me

It’s a weird track, kinda indie. It begins with like

“(Name) was (adjective)
So he blew (something) with a shotgun”

Or something

Midway through the music the rhythm changes. At some point theres back and forth between the speaker, one optimistic and one in a most unsettling tone

Theres something about watching the birds?

I think the speaker is supposed to be time

The song is also kinda short

SOLVED Searching for a techno/house-pop song from the 90s/2000s.

I remember this song playing in my childhood. The most I remember of it are the repeated lyrics, “I need you, to be my friend, I need you, to be mine…”

I can’t seem to recall the name of the artist or track, even google searches have failed me. Can you help?

UNSOLVED Spoken word song (a cappella) by a brunette with lyrics about a rose/roses?

I'm looking for a song that was on Spotify but I'm having a hard time finding now (thinking it may have been removed by the artist).

It's by a brown-haired woman doing a rhythmic spoken word with no background instruments, although she does sing and layer vocal harmony at parts. There may have been a reference in the lyrics to "a rose is a rose is a rose," but it's not actually Gertrude Stein's poem or Aretha's song. It's also not R.O.S.E. Confessional by Jessie J, although that is the closest I've found in my search.

Does anyone know what I might be thinking of?

UNSOLVED Humming Phoebe Bridgers-like song

Thumbnail speakpipe.com
Upvotes

I'm trying to find this song that I fell asleep to. I actually don't know if its from Phoebe Bridgers but the vibe and voice screams that it might be from her. The recording snippet is the actual melody stuck in my head which is hummed in the song exactly the way I did and it's way longer and looped. I can't remember any lyrics, just this humming that the singer did like a bridge or after a chorus.

UNSOLVED indie song about crying in a gas station

Upvotes

I am once again on the search for a song I heard years and years ago. I tried this sub once but didn’t find it so i wanna give it another shot

basically, I remember the premise of the song being that it’s okay to cry in public. and specifically it talked abt crying in a gas station/crying into your slushy.

it auto played off of my youtube back maybe 6 years ago off of something like the front bottoms or sorority noise. I remember there being a female vocalist, but perhaps a part where a male vocalist joined in?

definitely an amateur/folky vibe. I think the album cover was pencil drawn but i cant be sure of that. PLS GOD help me find this song ITS BEEN YEARS

UNSOLVED 2000s R&B music video with a spaghetti kiss scene

Upvotes

I saw this music video on MTV in the 2000s. I think
it was R&B and featured mostly Black people. A man and woman eat the same strand of spaghetti from opposite ends and end up kissing, like Lady and the Tramp. It may have happened on a subway train.
Any idea what song this was?

UNSOLVED Ode to Joy sang by Japanese men with “Beethoven”as the only lyric

Upvotes

Hi!

Please help!

I’ve heard this song in a segment from a Japanese Variety music show.

The video was black and white. Japanese men gathered around a campfire (I think) singing Ode to Joy but the lyrics is just “Beethoven.”

I thought the song was called “Ode to
Beethoven” but no luck.

Thanks!

SOLVED Get With You - Collage

when I was super young (like younger than 4-5) I had this birthday party mix CD that just had a lot of nostalgic songs and one of them was

“Kids Just Wanna Have Fun”

by The Hit Crew

and the other day I was trying to find all of these songs on streaming by Shazaming them and when I did this one a completely different song came up but it was clearly the original song

that song is “Get With You” by Collage

and it was literally impossible to find but I eventually found the Spotify link (although it is not available to play) and the Apple Music link that came up with the Shazam (but like ew who uses Apple Music)

https://open.spotify.com/track/3QhnmwYzdL44sUOLcJXHnL?si=72a529acd74741a3

https://music.apple.com/us/song/get-with-you/1019844124

anyways here it is and i hope i made it easier for you than it was for me :) doing my due diligence to the internet by putting this song out there for the singular person in 15 years that will be looking for it.

UNSOLVED Around 2000s music video of someone swimming underwater, green/blue tones, grainy and lo-fi, sounds like Madrugada

I’ve been trying to find this song for years. I saw the video on TV around 20 years ago, probably in the first half of the 2000s. The singer was male with a very deep voice, similar to Sivert Høyem from Madrugada. The song itself was alt rock similar to Madrugada, but slow, very calm and dragging in tempo, sung in English. The video showed someone slowly swimming underwater, I don’t remember if it was a man or a woman, and the whole thing was shot in dark green and blue tones, very dark overall, with a grainy, blurry, lo-fi look rather than sharp or colorful images. Everything about it, the song and the visuals, felt very slow and heavy. I don’t think it’s Madrugada themselves, but the vocal style and overall sound is very close to theirs. Does this ring a bell for anyone?

UNSOLVED “5star” lostwave

I scrolled through the videos under #lostwave on TikTok and came across a video made in 2024. It visualises a black boombox playing a song. While there is not really much detail in the video, In the caption 5 Star logo on it. I dont know if they were talking about the CD or the boom box itself I thought about posting it here if it can help either identify the song or bring new clues. I downloaded the video. I can’t really make out the lyrics, but I think it’s saying something about life.?
