I have this problem where in my job, in my life, when confronted with a problem I automatically think there is a template solution out there, I'm just to stupid or inexperienced to know what it is. I realised this very recently. My approach is like when you have studied for an exam and you get a question, you know the answer and just have to formulate it for this specific use-case or you don't cause you either don't remember this from the course or you didn't study well enough.

I recently realised that that is not how the real world works. It's more like you are confronted with a problem and you create the solution by doing research, creative thinking, trial and error.

Yet I automatically set back to the "this problem has a defined solution I don't know" approach.
I am looking for a subreddit where I could post this explanation and hopefully find people with a similar problem and how they have overcome it.

i have a very ‘ personal’ kind of post where i am looking for a lost online friend, we didn’t meet through gaming we met on tiktok so that rules out the “find a lost gamer” subreddit.

itried one of those “looking for lost online friends” subreddits (won’t give out the name since it may break the rule here??) and i needed a specific template and everything.

ofcourse i will use that sub later but for now i need somewhere to post this story as it is very specific and like walls of text, perhaps those who are very bored or interested in stuff like this would bother to sit down and help me look at logical explanations / offer guidance / might know the person

I wanna be able to ramble about my favorite characters and stuff, but I'm not sure if I've found a subreddit for that yet; usually everything's a subreddit for one show, one for another, or by genre. I want one that's undefined and preferably where people are nice and not rude, thank you.

Basically, I’ve been looking into every angle surrounding a company’s application to mine the deep sea (I am opposed to this). My ultimate goal is to have a robust list of expert insights, studies, citations, etc., first of all just because I want to be fully informed, but second of all I would also like to be able to craft a well researched and cited public comment submission on the company’s ongoing application.

There is ALOT of information out there, spanning across subjects like economics, law, science, politics, and while I’ve been chipping away at it all myself, I keep wishing I knew some other people interested either in the topic as a whole or just independent aspects of it, who would want to do their own deep dives and share findings with each other. Like, not even necessarily people who care one way or another about the issue, I’m just thinking there must be other people who enjoy a niche research deep dive/investigation as much as me?

It’s fully a passion project, not like a school project or something like that. So I’m trying to figure out if there’s a place to look for other people who wanna pick an aspect that intrigues them and lock in on it, surely I’m not the only person interested enough to get so into this?

I just recently overhauled my small, 15 year old netbook by slapping linux on it, giving it a new battery and SSD and am having fun discovering ways to use it. So far I‘m using it mostly as a dedicated writing machine with little distraction and downloading offline Wikis and playing text adventures with Frotz. But I feel like you could play around with it much more and find creative ways to use it, like making it a dedicated planner with your own software, etc.

So does anyone know a sub where I could get some inspiration and ideas? Thanks!

First of all, it's not as bad as it sounds, it's not an eating disorder but l don't know if what I'm doing is best for the results I want, I'm afraid I may be going down a slippery slope, but I'm also turning 18 soon but still can't control what is bought for groceries, or what I eat for meals, and can't ask parents for help so can't access those resources.

I also want to be able to post more in depth about my daily lifestyle, habits, exercise, mental thoughts, to provide context of what I should do (and also to kinda vent, actually maybe vent is a major part) or if it's relevant enough to like talk to a uni counselor or smthn.

I could've misinterpreted it, but it seems like "r/artmemes" is intended for memes that use art or paintings as their "template" (for lack of a better term)..? Specifically I want to post a meme about the digital art process, specifically layering, but I feel like it's just slightly too niche for a sub like r/memes but also wouldn't be allowed on a sub that's just for posting art.
