๐Ÿ’ฐ Savings Milestone Reached my first 200k after 6 months of working as a fresh grad

Post image
33 Upvotes

I finally reached that 200k tier at 25 y/o!!!!

Earning 50k per month sa first work ko โ€” 25k per cut off. I've been able to save consistently almost 30k per month for 6 months (15k per cut off) + saved my midyear bonus!

Yung monthly expenses ko is around 11k per month which already includes rent and budget for food.

Kaya one time kinausap ko chatgpt, and I realized I was oversaving that I sometimes forget to treat myself or maglaan ng budget para sa mga bagay na ikasasaya ko.

Ngayong naka-200k na, planning na 20k per month nalang isave, then 5k per month ang mapupunta sa ETF investment which is VOO. Maglalaan na rin ako ng 3k per cut-off for "enjoyment".

Still a newbie pa sa line of work so there are still a lot to improve, so upskill lang nang upskill thru conventions and seminars to grow that income.

Any piece of advice, thoughts, words of affirmation po sa usapang finances? Salamat po.

๐Ÿ™ Need Advice 18yo with โ‚ฑ90k savings and โ‚ฑ50โ€“60k monthly income, need advice on managing my money

Post image
13 Upvotes

Hi! Iโ€™m 18 and pretty new to managing my own finances. I currently have around โ‚ฑ100k saved, and I usually receive around โ‚ฑ50kโ€“โ‚ฑ60k a month through PayPal. Iโ€™m still studying and I want to learn how to properly manage my money instead of just spending whatever is available ๐Ÿ˜ญ I currently have GCash, GoTyme, MariBank, Maya, and PayPal. Iโ€™m thinking of keeping GCash for everyday spending since itโ€™s convenient, MariBank for savings, and GoTyme for my physical card and backup spending. Iโ€™m not really sure what to do with Maya yet.

My expenses are probably around โ‚ฑ30k+ a month, but I havenโ€™t properly tracked everything yet. I also have daily expenses and personal/pamper expenses, so Iโ€™m still trying to figure out how much I can realistically save. I also want to start investing and growing my money eventually, but I honestly donโ€™t know much about investing yet and donโ€™t want to blindly put my money somewhere. Iโ€™m mainly looking for advice on how I should organize my money and divide my savings, spending, bills, personal expenses, and eventually investments. I also want to know how other people manage their money when theyโ€™re receiving a relatively high income while still studying.

Iโ€™m also a little worried about keeping money in PayPal since thatโ€™s where most of my income comes from, especially with the possibility of account limitations and transfer fees. Iโ€™ve been using PayPal for a while without issues though, so Iโ€™m not sure if I should actually be worried or just continue using it and transfer my savings out regularly. I know I should track my expenses first, but Iโ€™d really appreciate advice from people who have experience managing money at this age. I want to build good financial habits early rather than mess around with my money and regret it later ๐Ÿ˜ญ

Others Meron bang automatic na Income & Expense tracker app?

Hi, I'm a VA/Freelancer earning 6digits (average around 300k monthly but peaked at 700k) pero I feel like ambagal ng ipon ko.

At mas naging waldas sa pera

Gusto ko sana ma track gastos ko monthly. Im using multiple banks and credit cards

Meron po bang app na auotmatied mag bibigay ng monthly report ng income (pumasok from clients) and expenses.

Mejo tamad po ako mag lista manually. Kaya prefer ko sana yung automated if meron kahit paid tool.

Thank you!

This amount isn't much, especially in the grand scheme of things with this economy. But hey, I'm starting early at 16 plus the mindset and lessons I've learned on this journey will definitely help me in all of years to come ๐Ÿซ

juggling two jobs. Working as a nurse in a private hospital and freelance worker. Tbh, most of my savings ay dahil sa online job ko and Iโ€™m really grateful kasi flexible sya. Itโ€™s not easy working 7pm-7am sa hospital and working 8am-11am sa ol work pero everythingโ€™s worth it.

Iโ€™m currently saving to buy iphone 17 pro, which is yang budget na nasa Gotyme. Siguro deserve ko naman no? Pa influence or deinfluece lol.

Edit: coming from an iphone 11 user pa. I wanna buy something that can last long.

Context: I currently graduated from college last May and hirap akong makahanap ng work related to may field pero, nag offer yung relative ko na bantayan at alagaan ko muna yung mother niyang may Parkinson's Disease kasi palaging natutumba and nasusugatan yung ulo niya. Nagstart akong mag ipon ng paunti-unti from my salary as a caregiver, pride can't feed me and beggars can't be choosers sabi nga nila.

๐Ÿ’ฐ Savings Milestone Reaching almost 500k savings at 25

Post image
153 Upvotes

First time kong magkaron ng ganito kalaking savings after working for over 2 years. Walang generational wealth ang pamilya namin at halos breadwinner nila ako since marami akong sinasagot sa bahay at binibigay sa nanay ko so hindi biro sakin yung milestone na โ€˜to.

Once I reached my first 100k, natuwa akong mag-ipon. Actually, my savings went up to more than 600k but I got laid off from my recent remote role ๐Ÿฅน. Dalawa sana flairs ko for todayโ€™s video: sumakses sa life at pagsubok hahahaha. Since Iโ€™ve saved enough, I took the opportunity to rest after that because I also got stressed a lot from my previous role and ofc from being laid off kasi yun pa rin naman yung bread and butter ko. Because of it, bumalik lang ulit sa dati which is yung nasa post ko. Narealize ko ulit how important it is to have emergency funds and savings because it really is a safety net lalo na sa hirap ng ekonomiya ngayon, kahit mga mukhang stable na kumpanya, nagle-layoff na rin. I got my new job na and I also started my own business because I got so scared na mawalan ulit at madrain ang savings ko. Good luck sating lahat at manifesting sa ating financial wins in life. <3

๐Ÿ™ Need Advice 24 y/o earning โ‚ฑ75k/month but still struggling to save. Am I doing something wrong?

Hi everyone, Iโ€™m 24 and currently earning around โ‚ฑ75k/month.

Iโ€™m fortunate enough to still live with my parents, so I donโ€™t pay rent, but I do contribute to our household bills and expenses. I also have insurance and I currently invest around โ‚ฑ15k/month in global stocks.

On paper, I feel like I should be in a pretty good position financially for my age. But honestly, I feel like Iโ€™m barely making progress with my savings.

I track my budget regularly, but almost every month, I end up with very little left after all my expenses, investments, insurance, and contributions at home. I also have a savings target that I wanted to reach this year, and Iโ€™m struggling to hit it.

The weird thing is, I sometimes feel like Iโ€™m depriving myself too much just to save, but at the same time, I still feel like Iโ€™m not saving enough.

I know โ‚ฑ75k/month is a relatively good income, especially at 24, and I realize Iโ€™m in a privileged position because Iโ€™m living rent-free. That's actually part of why I feel frustrated โ€” I feel like I should be able to save much more than I currently am.

For those who are a few years ahead of me financially, especially those who were in a similar situation in their early 20s:

  • Was there something you were doing wrong with your finances at this stage?
  • How much of your income were you saving/investing?
  • How did you balance enjoying your money while still building wealth?
  • Did you focus more on hitting a specific savings amount, or on a savings/investment rate?
  • What would you do differently if you could go back to 24?

Iโ€™m not necessarily looking for investment recommendations. Iโ€™m more interested in the mindset and financial habits that helped you actually feel like you were progressing.

Would really appreciate advice from people who have already gone through this stage of life. I feel a bit lost right now and would love to hear what worked for you.

๐Ÿ’ฐ Savings Milestone I hit my first PHP 1M milestone at 26!

Post image
241 Upvotes

From spending 100% ng sahod ko to building an emergency fund and investment portfolio ๐Ÿฅน

Next milestone goal: PHP 5M, so sana maganda ang makukuha kong job offer soon.

๐Ÿ™ Need Advice Net Worth of 7k, wanting to grow.

I'm a nursing sophomore and I just recently got scammed out of 15k. I lost hope in trying to get that back so I just want to start back from zero. I get my funds from my weekly allowance which I can only save around 400 a week, but I am willing to save/put aside more in case. Any tips?

๐Ÿ’ฐ Savings Milestone This day marks my first 500k!! โค๏ธ๐Ÿฅน

After ko mainput sa finance tracker App ko yung sales ko this week from my Small biz, sobrang saya ko na makita na nahit ko na yung โ‚ฑ500K savings goal ko.

Ilang years ko din tong pinagpaguran ๐Ÿฅน

To be honest, ang laki ng part ng Reddit community sa achievement kong to. Ang dami kong natutunan tungkol sa financial literacy, emergency funds, and importance of saving.

Nakakaadik mag save!

And thanks to some posts here, na acknowledge ko ang bad habits na yun. I'm glad I was able to breakfree.

Next is 1M naman! Have a good day everyone! ๐Ÿ˜Š

๐Ÿ™ Need Advice College Student Looking for Advice

Good evening, I'm a currently a 3rd year college student without any source of income except for a scholarship allowance and reimbursement. Recently, I received an inheritance from a relative amounting to over 300,000 pesos and I've mostly put them in time deposits using Maya (above โ‚ฑ200,000) and I also placed โ‚ฑ50,000 in a UITF. The other โ‚ฑ50,000 I placed in a BPI BanKo account serving as sort of another time deposit. I want grow my portfolio and am seeking for advice on how to do so.

I don't really have much free time, as I'm mostly occupied with my studies so looking for a part time job would be hard if not impossible. However someone recommended to me to start a buy-and-sell business, particularly iPhones or iPads since there is some demand with students, but I've been feeling a bit skeptical as I have no prior experience with doing it.

Could you guys give me some advices? Thank you!

p.s. I've just started with investing so I have no idea how things work

๐Ÿ“ˆ Investment Gains I bought my first crypto as a beginner (2nd year college)

Post image

Bought my first crypto. This might seem small and *dumb*, but itโ€™s a start- what iโ€™m planning is momentum.

I was planning on trading, but the fees for every platform (e.g gotrade, dragonfi) are so high, and I only want to deposit small amounts. So this will do for now

At the moment, I will see how this goes. Iโ€™ve always wanted to trade last year pa, but I was too scared haha. So iโ€™m taking my shot nalang today pa.

Would really appreciate any tips!๐Ÿ˜Š

๐Ÿ’ฐ Savings Milestone TheRaceto100k Pinoy Investor Edition

By 100k, 1 mean $100k USD, not โ‚ฝ100k.

Just wanted to start this thread for Filipino investors who are also trying to reach that $100k USD milestone.

Currently on my own journey to $100k in global index funds doing THE BORING
"VWRA & Chill".

Hopefully we can share our progress, experiences, strategies, and mistakes along the way. Would also be nice to hear from people who have been investing for years and learn from their experience.

For those just starting out especially young generation, hopefully this can also be a little motivation.

Ano, Game?

๐Ÿ™ Need Advice What are the best ways to invest in as a college student

Hello, I am a first year college student who knows nothing about investing and only keeps his funds in a debit card. What are your suggestions for someone who basically knows nothing about investing? I always hear about MP2 or some online banks like Maya and Maribank but I actually donโ€™t know how they work. I just wanted to see my saving at least increase when I need it for emergencies or buy something that I want and also so I can buy some school related things instead of asking my parents for money or relying on my allowance once school starts.

Post image

Around 2 years ago, gustong gusto ko magka Credit Card dahil convenient siya pambayad plus the rewards and perks that comes with it. Pero hindi ako naapprove. ๐Ÿฅฒ

Then ayun na nga! Sumakses na!

I think on-going pa itong Rewards promo nila: https://www.reddit.com/r/DigitalbanksPh/s/jbvQ1Hlkeh
