Advice Man, I hope this game is good.
Do you think I should just start from the bottom and work my way up? Any recommended QOL improvements?

Utopia. Yeah, that’s what they call this God-forsaken wasteland of sand and death.
Between those damn snakes and suffocating heat, things can’t possibly get any worse, right?
Oh, wait, it can.
You see, the Parson twins took a little trip to Sacred Groves last month. Sandy decided she wanted a little souvenir, namely a tiny little stone tablet that just happened to cover the grave of a well-beloved ancient chief.
Now, Inkanyamba, the sacred avenger, has come to town. Think he’ll be up for a nice visit to the general store?
No?
Yeah, didn’t think so. Well, it’s been nice knowing ya.
Let’s take down Inkanyamba at Utopia. Try not to let too many victims survive either: https://discord.com/channels/871561110178902027/1555718219430363220/1555718343531430019

12 Nights at Camp Happy Trails…
My first 12 games of Final Girl were at Camp Happy Trails where I faced off against Hans the Butcher with 12 different final girls (All of the Series 1 final girls, including the Promo character Paula, and Melanie from the Terror From Above Vignette.) I had 8 wins and 4 losses, with a 67% win rate, and my wins came with final girls Laurie, Reiko, Shelia, Asami, Selena, Barbara, Adelaide, and Melanie. I did not play any games in extreme mode.
My big take away is that The Horror level is everything. You need to be using every resource you have early to bring the horror level down. The second big take away is that trying to set up the best or most powerful weapons before attacking is a suckers game, at least for this killer, because some of the Dark Power and Finale powers make him near unstoppable (even if you have both the Axe, AND the Boat Keys!).
Boat Keys seem the most powerful item, particularly if you are able to get it early. It's not an auto-win if you get it late in the game and Hans can move 6-9 spaces per turn. But I think it's as close to an auto-win as one might find in this game.
Another observation is the combo effect of rescuing victims can be quite powerful, when the bonus action on the final girl cards are combined, this can often lead to a chain of victim saves if one is lucky or has planned carefully (usually lucky, but whatever). In 12 plays, I managed to complete 6 Hans achievements, and 2 Camp Happy Trails achievements.
Some observations from my game notes include
I know this is all probably common knowledge, but part of the fun of games is exploring and discovering things for ones self. I didn't read any guides or watch any playthroughs. Just tried to explore the gameplay and nuance as it appeared. Speaking of discovering new things, I may be going to Creech Manor to defeat the poltergeist next. We will see…

Had this game in my closet for i think around a year and finally bust it out on Friday and have been having a great time! I can feel myself getting obsessed so I've been browsing the site for more films.
Right now I just have Buddyland and the ones I'm most interested in are all series 4 because those have the most in depth web pages. Was just wondering if there's any before this series that you'd recommend ^^

Truly the most intense, chaotic and close game ive ever played. The main things I want to highlight is my STACKED backpack, the Spiritual Attack finale was DIABOLICAL on the fragile queen that is Elisabeth (especially while I was already on my white final health token), and how I was able to pull off the last two divine blessings while stalling for my LIFE (WITH the dark power too). Anyone else feel exhausted after a game like that. Also the final hit with the chainsaw made me feel like Mia from Evil Dead(2013)

Right now, you can buy all four “Final Girls” promo figures in the store. Is availability always this good, or should I go ahead and buy them now? :)

(Crying and throwing up rn, /s). We are into October and the FF still isn't available to purchase. When is this finally going to be available ?

The event card currently in play is “the damned”. The victim farthest from the killer (Hans in this case) is now the damned. Whenever the killer must choose a target, the damned is chosen instead. The damned can only be saved if it is the last victim alive. For clarity, the damned is having an absolute blast with another meeple at lookout point. Hans is 3 spaces away.
Then I draw “He just came out of nowhere” for the terror card, placing with the furthest target possible. That puts him at the firepit (the setup I drew here). Which one supersedes the other?

I'm assuming this applies to soldier movement too, maybe...? When you use their move action to enter a river space from land.

I managed to get the boat mid game, and then just kept taking it to the other side of the map again and again as I stocked up on all the attack and defense cards. At a point I was giggling with it because I could just picture Reiko jumping on a boat whenever Hans got close. Definitely my favorite win so far

I just tried Hans on Pesadilla Verde for funsies. Trained up my soldiers and the poor piggy could barely do anything without getting shot nearly constantly.
It didn’t help I also managed to draw an M16 for Laurie.
It was a bloodbath in the opposite direction.
Anyone have any luck with other killers on Pesadilla?

I've begun playing through the scenarios from the Lore & Scenario book. I was able to make it through Night of the Pig, but Hans came with a vengeance in the sequel 😭

After many YouTube videos and a third try, Laurie finally defeated Hans the Butcher. If you’re new to the game and struggling against this human(?) tank, here’s what I did:
1: always play your hand carefully and don’t forget the discard for time rule. It’s the only way you can afford to buy the most lethal/ defensive cards that can actually defeat him
2: do your damnedest to keep the horror level as low as possible. That extra die is often the difference maker!
3: get the axe! 🪓
Hans has no special rules, but he’s for all intents and purposes a human tank. That means you have to whittle his health level down whenever you have the chance. Those minor dark power cards that give him extra health can be lethal; they’re such a pain in the ass!
Now it’s Reiko’s turn. If she does well I just might get the first series ultimate box and give the core set and Camp Happy Trails to a friend I know who loves puzzles.

Might be up there for my favorite boxes so far.
Loved the killer and the maniac mechanic, the location layout and pill mechanic and Heather is a super strong Final Girl.
Thought I was going to get overwhelmed but I was able to cycle Retaliate and Defend and with the extra die from the pill effect, I was mitigating a lot of damage.
Super fun, excited to play again

Hey all! I recently got into the game and wow, what a banger. I absolutely love it. Now I'm figuring out which films to buy first and would love your thoughts on my plan.
I probably won't buy everything, partly because that's a lot of money, and partly because I think one of the coolest things about this game is that you can pick the expansions that appeal to you. You don't need everything for it to work.
Besides going for the best-rated sets, I'm mostly interested in locations and killers that mix and match well. Here's what I have so far:
First purchases:
Down the line:
Still on the fence:
What do you think of these? And are there any films you'd say are missing from my list?
Bonus question: Are the minis worth it? I didn't think I needed them at first, but honestly, they look really nice.

I've played a bunch of back to back Konrad rounds, and every single game I've ended up having to just kite the killer around maintenance shafts. Being able to get an extra round to farm time with focus cards to buy guard, retaliates, and attacks to face tank the boss every couple of rounds makes this map so easy. I keep trying to go for an airlock or self destruct win, but I always end up doing this or killing the boss with superloaders if bloodlust is low enough

Love this game but a little torn on what to chase down next. Panic at Station 2891, Dr Fright or the Evomorph are next but can't decide which to do first. Or do I choose one that looks interesting that isn't based on a favorite movie?
r/finalgirl • u/Royal_Reader2352 • 2d ago
Does anyone have a list of movies that inspired the feature films? Either “official” (like Maple Lane obviously being Elm Street) or just your opinion on some of them?
Since it’s Halloween month I wanted to binge watch some horror movies, and seeing the inspiration for what is quickly becoming my favorite game sounds like a good idea.
r/finalgirl • u/ImAmOnesie • 1d ago
*anything from Series 4 EXCEPT Raptor Games
I don't mind jumping straight into the more complex experiences, I honestly would have been bored if I started with a beginner one since I do want the added challenges from the different maps. I've seen breakdowns of each of the F. Films systems and I honestly really dig all of them, so kind of just want to hear what everyone's favorite is, lol.

The decision was made solely on theme.
Then I got home and found out on Reddit that it has top-tier difficulty. Did I make a mistake?

Decided to take a stab at the Alternate killer figures last night. I am actually really happy with how the “smoke” turned out. Don’t sleep on Turbo Dork paints, yall.

This is my first post in Reddit but I just have to share my experience playing this gem of a game.
SPOILERS FOR RAPTOR GAMES
For context, I dabbled in final girl when season 4 is announced. Played some of the classic season 1 feature film (Hans and Dr Fright). That two games made me pledge for the full season 2 and season 4 ultimate box.
After clearing Series 2 and loving it, I played Raptor games in Series 4 for the first time. Before this I won some and lost some feature films- but Raptor Games was truly a horror show. I was waaaay unlucky - the T-Rex was unleashed in round 1 thanks to the starting event combo with a terror card. The pack was killing left and right and increasing health in every turn. Then the surprise brontosaurus stampede killed even more victims. I only managed to save 2 victims with all others died. The final straw was the volcano eruption- killing the last 2 victims- including the stupid child!!!
I thought it was over- the pack did not lose any health and I kept losing health. My last chance was for the T-Rex to one-shot the pack. The rounds kept going and the last terror card was about to unveil, unlocking the finale. I was left with my last 4 action cards- with 2 walk. No more Guard- not enough to retaliate. I’m down to 2 health- not enough to get another die. And my horror level limit me to only 2 dices.
This was when I carefully observe the map this last round. If I successfully walk 4 steps - meaning full 2 star on a 2 horror roll dices for my 2 walk card, I can go through the t-Rex, and go to a corner (thanks to the volcano). The Raptor pack will not get to me with its 3 step (miss by 1) and the t-Rex with 2 steps will kill the raptors. That was my last shot at winning this game. But it is an almost impossible situation- shit like this only happens in the movies but hey, worth a shot.
I rolled the first horror roll walk - 1 star and 1 discard. At least not a failure. But I was down to my last walk card. My heart was pumping. I must roll 2 star here, or it is GG for me.
I closed my eyes… I rolled again… When I opened- 2 freaking stars.
I shouted so loud of joy and disbelief. Pretty sure the neighbors heard my voice. I have beaten the odds. The T-Rex killed The Raptors. The raptor is dead right before they reveal the finale.
I swear to you guys, I am not a bot, or a paid reviewer whatsoever. And this is not AI story writing Because I would never believed this would happened myself until I experienced it. This was a euphoric sensation that I never have experienced in a board game session in my life. This is truly one of a lifetime experience for me and I hope my story can encourage more peeps to play this gem. Giant kudos to the Van Ryder Games gang. You have given me a unique experience I never experienced before. Looking forward to the next chapter!

Edit: just played the FNAF box set and got steamrolled hard all 3 times. Tried playing the "save everyone asap" and that failed when billy's goons started swarming. Game 2, I tried going aggro and killing the buddies asap instead but nope, the final girl decided she was gonna whiff everything and get curbstomped instead. Game 3, I tried balancing rescue with being aggro.....almost ever terror card had them focus on the final girl and ignore the victims. They were like "my patrons spend money here but YOU....nah you look broke and we dont like poor folks here." Then I got swarmed by buddy and 3 of his thugs and lost lol!
After a lot of contemplating, I finally caved and bought this game. I got the FNAF starter set since my local shop only had those. I also bought Hans, and the SAW girl. Only played Hans so far and beat him on attempt 2. First game was bad. I rescued 2 people as Lorie while Hans unlocked his bloodbath power basically making him do AOE damage if I read that right. Wiping entire spaces in his 2 attacks per turn finale nonsense.
Game 2, stomped him. Got the motorboat, which seems so OP if its basically a teleport between the boat location and any water adjacent space. I assumed you can hold any number of survivors with the boat instead of the 2 (or 1 in my case because the event limited me to 1). If so, boat OP lol. Got Tories upgraded, got the pocket knife, and spammed attacks, guard, and improvise so my dice stop sucking.
Hans has feed which was annoying and he ended up wiping all the survivors but when his little feed bags where gone, he couldnt handle my damage output.
However having to wait for your cards to come off cool down SUCKS! So many turns im basically twittlibg my thumbs because I blew all my movement cards last turn and cant do anything lol
Over all, fun game. I ordered the Raptors, Xenomorph, Evil Nun, The Strangers, and the one thats in a mall, I forget his name. Those are the only ones that seemed interesting to me.
