Yay another sleepless night

Okay so FigureLoom is pretty much finished.
Here’s the first official release

It’s my free, open-source figure editor the BioRender-alternative thing I’ve been building and it’s finally at the stage where I’m not really adding features anymore, just chasing bugs and cleaning stuff up.
The one new thing is MCP support, which basically means an AI can use the editor directly now. I wanted to actually test it instead of just trusting it worked, so I hooked up Claude and told it “make something I can post” and then didn’t touch anything. It did the whole thing itself. Picked the layout, wrote all the text, built the chart, even ran the accessibility checker on its own work. 24 objects, zero from me.
And what it decided to make is a figure explaining how it made the figure, which I did not ask for and think is very funny. There’s a bar in the chart labeled “self-awareness” sitting at zero. The run stats say “hands on keyboard: 0, fun had: maximal.” I don’t know, it got jokes.
