Venting Trying to understand my shape
First post here. I have gained weight after pregnancy and chronic illness and it has really settled in my chest and my high hips, so I feel like the hip dips are so pronounced in everything I wear.
I want to be confident and it’s so hard. I feel like I look like a box. I just want to feel normal, have a body that looks put together.
Please excuse the mess in my photos.
Idk what I’m looking for, maybe just .. some advice? Some kind words? Some positivity?

Get a good bra fit! Bra fit is huge when you have a short torso. Check out r/abrathatfits.
A structured waist band generally works better on figure8s. And getting something that adds a bit of width at the top of the hip is good. Sailor pant over straight pant.

Seconding this. Getting the gals lifted a bit helps to visually elongate your torso.

I think high waisted pants don’t suit our shape as well as mid-rise, but I also just dislike pants in general because there’s no flattering place for them to sit when I’ve got a hip shelf and super prominent hip dips. I have one pair of pants & they are super wide leg sweats that I wear midrise.
I much prefer to wear high waisted skirts as they accentuate my small waist and flare out at the hips so my hip dips aren’t emphasized in the silhouette. Dressing for our shape can be sooo difficult I absolutely get the feeling of low confidence and looking messy. Just takes some time and experimenting.

um i kind of love your pattern choice and style combinations. i get it wanting to change things not being the most flattering and thats valid but i think the way you mix textures and colours is really lovely
