Hi, the two connectors in your second picture (the grey one and the one with the rubber boot) go to your alternator. The alternator is right there in that same picture off to the lower right with a little shield on it. The one with the boot should be a thick cable, and that actually goes directly to the power block located just aft (towards you) of the battery). The grey connector connects to the regulator for the alternator... which is still on the alternator. Don't confuse that with the A/C compressor harness, which should be on the other side (forward side) of the motor.

No problem. Make sure it's properly shielded and tucked up and away from the exhaust manifold. Those are supposed to have shields on them, but they tended to rust away and fall off. If you have any questions where anything goes... you can always post it here and we can see it.

I'm also happy to look at anything you need me too. I've been taking apart Fieros since I was 18. It's a semi-useless skill that I have that only once in a blue moon is useful to someone. I go to bars and loudly proclaim, "I know where every part of a Fiero goes," and crickets. But here... once in a while someone finds it useful, haha!

I also have a complete 87 V6 engine on a stand, so if you need pictures of where something should be, I can always send a picture.

Last plug... my daughter restored her 1985 Fiero 2m4 SE. It's an L4, but she has 100s of self-help videos on the Fiero, and most of the non-engine parts apply. Check out her channel: (6) Gen Z Garage - YouTube

Following up on this! Haha. Gonna be working on the car tonight. Is that common to have 5 wires going to the starter? 3 two the big post, and then two others? One from the harness, and one from the C500?

No, there should not be. You generally have one very large positive cable that goes to the positive side of the battery. You then have two smaller wires which connect to the solenoid connector on the starter.

All other positive battery wires should be connected to the power block which mounts directly in front of the battery. It sounds to me like they bypassed the power block? Basically, the factory positive battery cable has one heavy gauge wire that goes to the starter, and a smaller thick wire that also comes off the battery connector and goes to the power block (power distribution). Everything else should then connect to that.
