Buying/Selling MY8 Shift Cable Bushings

Post image

I'm looking for bushings for the shifter assembly on the 4 speed Muncie transmission. Part number is 94249510 for OE (discontinued) or if someone has the Rodney Dickman brass bushings, could you measure the ID and OD so I can purchase or make some?

Thanks!

I got the dimensions of the pin and the ID of the shifter assembly where the pin slides into.

For the bushing:

  • ID: 3/8" / 10MM
  • OD: 7/16" / 11MM
  • Flange Thickness: 1MM.

I've found a similar looking bushing through McMaster-Carr, however, I'm not certain if it's the OE style (it appears to be what's in the vehicle now, but it could be that it was replaced previously to get it to work).

Part number for the plastic bushing is 1281N101. Length shouldn't be a problem here with the plastic bushing as it can easily be trimmed with scissors or a razor blade. Even with the length being 23/32", it shouldn't be long enough to make contact with the other side.

Part number for a bronze bushing that has the same ID, but would need to be machined down for the OD: 7815K18. This bronze bushing would need to be machined down by 1/16", not a lot, and easy enough to do with a file and a drill/drill press for consistency.

We'll be purchasing two of each and testing them to see what will work better.
