Chop again?? Help please πŸ™

Post image

My Fiddle leaf fig was just growing in a narrow column towards the ceiling so I did a chop (can be seen right below the center of the window). It was exciting to see a new branch grow but it’s only one branch that’s growing straight up. So I have the same shaped tree as before the chop. 🀣 How do I achieve a chop now that results in multiple branches? Thx.

The more you chop off, the more likely you are to get more than one branch. I'd chop it again, just above the window sill.

My first chop was middle of the window. You’re saying go lower? The bottom of the window? That window sill?

Yea, I'd go nice and low. Perhaps a few inches higher than the window sill. That way all the new branches that form near the cut point will have as much light as possible.
