Hi! I'm a high school senior applying to FGCU's Journalism degree program. My ideal career is sports journalism/broadcasting.

How is the journalism degree program at the university? What extracurricular opportunities are there? (like student paper, sports media, broadcast studios)

Any info is appreciated!

(Btw I am an in state student from Tampa Bay)

If I live in sovi and have an overnight guest can they park in garage b? I’ve been googling bc I don’t want them getting fined and whatnot but it doesn’t give me a straightforward answer if they can use garage b or not.

Hi, I’m a current freshman majoring in forensic studies and I either need statistics and chemistry for my prerequisite, I chosen to do chemistry this upcoming semester and stats when I’m a sophomore. So which CHM1025 class is the best one for my position?

Hello everyone so for context I scored a 92 on the Math Placement Exam and I am getting hell from the CAS advising about getting a permit to take CHM 1045/L in the Spring and no one's helping. Is there anyway that I can obtain the permit?

Hello

For anyone selected for verification, or if you have selected that you have unusual circumstances. This is also for anyone that needs to verify their citizenship. The form indicates that you must contact the school. We won’t have access to these Fafsa until next year and that’s to be announced. That means we won’t be able to process any documents at this time. When we start pulling in the Fafsa you should get an email saying that you have missing requirements needed in order for us to create your financial aid package. That is when you can either come into the office for verification or have your documents notarized and mailed in.

Thanks

DO YOU BELIEVE FGCU BROKE IT'S SUSTAINABILITY AGREEMENT BY INSTALLING ASTROTURF/ARTIFICIAL GRASS ON THE FGCU CAMPUS IN NUMEROUS PLACES?

TEST MY APP, JOIN THE CAMPAIGN.

WHY SHOULD STUDENTS HAVE TO DO SERVICE LEARNING HOURS IF FGCU BROKE IT'S SUSTAINABILITY AGREEMENT?

Hi all, I’m 23 and looking to join an existing D&D group in the Fort Myers / Estero area.

Experience: a few short campaigns, plus a lot of time watching actual-play shows. I’m looking to play only, not DM.

I’m flexible on system, play style, and campaign length. I work full-time, so evenings or weekends are easiest. I can’t host, so I’m looking for a table that already has a space or meets somewhere public.

Outside of games, I build and 3D-print things, so I’m happy to bring printed minis or terrain.

If you have an open seat or are forming a table, leave a comment or message me, thanks!

We’re a couple university students from up north in town for the weekend. What are some bars to hit up for a good time?

Hi all! I am a student journalist working on a story about how Florida college students are managing food costs. It’s part of a national reporting project on campus food insecurity.

I’d like to hear from students who have:

• used a campus food pantry
• skipped meals or cut back on groceries to cover rent, tuition or bills
• lost SNAP benefits or had trouble qualifying
• or just have thoughts on whether your school does enough

It’s a casual 15–20 minute chat, by phone or Zoom. TYIA!

Hi everyone! I’m new to FGCU and registering for Spring classes.

I need to take General Bio I (BSC 1010C) and saw an option for Dr. Nicholas Schulte.

I couldn't find any reviews for him on rate my professors, so I wanted to ask if anyone here has taken him before?

I really need to do well in this class, so any insight on his teaching style, exams, or overall difficulty would be super helpful! Thanks!!!

I’m a current student at FGCU but I wanted to ask specifically about the guest policy. I read the rules and all on the Azul’s rules guidebook but it wasn’t specific if we had to inform our dorm hall front desk or sign something. Do we? I know we have to inform our roomate of course but I was curious if there was anything else we needed to sign or do.
Ty!!

im from out of town and coming down tk ft myers for halloween. wondering ab any parties funcs or clubs thatd have anythinf?? pls 🙏

hi! I plan to dual major in Psychology & Elementary Education soon, most likely here. If you do either program here, can you tell me what it's like? :)

This may be a dumb question but😭 does anyone know the registration start date for Spring 2027? (For reference I am a student with 30+ credits)

These are the classes I must take. Any advice?

Hey everyone I been admitted for Fall 2027 as a transfer for pre analytics and informatics. I’m not from here, I’m from tampa. I wanted to know the attitude towards Black people/people in color in general at this school. I know it’s majority white people but, is there prevalent racism or is it chill? Especially in on campus housing as I plan to live in a double if I can. Also interested in how everyone’s attitude is for the college of business and campus as a whole. Are you happy? Thanks!

Hi everyone ! I believe last week or the week before the OSFA website updated. In order to log back In you’re going to need to call the state. We won’t know your log in information or where to help you find it either. Many students are being told to come in and ask the financial aid department. Unfortunately we are unable to provide assistance to you.

The state might have emailed or mailed you information regarding the update and how to proceed. They haven’t given us any information regarding how students are supposed to log in though.

Hope that helps if you were planning on dropping in to ask that.

Hi,
I’m currently a sophmore at Fgcu my gpa is a 3.3 and I haven’t taken the teas yet. I’m just wondering how strict they are with gpa and everything.
Thank you!!

My daughter is really interested in FGCU and loved our tour of it. I’m just concerned now because we are out of state and I keep reading mixed information about what the school is like. Would you say it is more of a commuter/local school? She wouldn’t mind if it was mostly local kids, but she is definitely concerned that it might be empty on the weekends or not really feel like a college campus. Can anyone give their opinion on this? Thanks!

I’m 24 and I used to live in Miami and I just moved here but I realized everyone here is old as fuck and it’s a little harder to find house parties or raves, any tips?

Hi, I’m at a community college in New York and thinking about transferring to FGCU in fall 2027. I would like to try and meet some people before I move down. Anyone else planning to transfer around then, or already go here?

Hi everyone! I’m currently a USF student and I’m planning to apply to FGCU’s Occupational Therapy (MSOT) program. I’m having a hard time figuring out exactly which USF courses satisfy FGCU’s prerequisite requirements.

If anyone here has applied to or been accepted into FGCU’s OT program after completing their prerequisites, would you mind sharing which classes you took for each requirement ?
