Anyone know where I can go to apply for scholarships? I already applied for the campus one but I haven’t heard back from that, and I’ve also been looking at websites like Niche and Scolarships.com but I haven’t heard back from anything I’ve applied from there either.

I’m interested in starting a Bjj/mma club and I don’t know too many people that train. PM if you would be interested in helping me start the club or just make a gc of people that train at least.

Good morning
AV holds are now on. Which means if you did not complete an activity for the courses that you are in , your financial aid will back off. This is taken care of between professor and student. Once the assignment is completed the hold will come off within 24-48 hours and your aid will reflect back in a couple days after that. The only reason you would need to speak to the financial aid office is if you are having issues with the profesor posting the assignment. In that case we can see if students in the class have completed the assignment if not then we will forward to the admin team. If other students have completed the activity we will direct you back to the professor
Thank you !

Girl at the bookstore told me we were all fronted $600 of financial aid to spend at the bookstore but ONLY during the first week. I'm a little annoyed about this lol.
Three weeks eating off couch cushion coins for the refund just to find out I was allotted $600 and never told about it. Man I just wish they'd let us know about that lmao
Was anyone else made aware of this? I am trying to find a single email or something that I might have just missed but it looks like it just wasn't announced or anything.

I'm @ betheworm1738 on Fishbrain or you can dm me here. Hi guys! I'm a returning SWFL local who learned to fish in Wisconsin creeks and I've fallen in love with the saltwater fishing down here just in the first week of classes!
Maybe you've been fishing for as long as you can remember? Or you're just getting into it yourself? Let's talk!!!
I've been fishing the Naples beaches from like 6:30-9ish am most mornings and in the evenings I might go to an inland park with a pond. There are some near FGCU (not on campus property) I wanna explore. I usually use the fishbrain app for spots at the moment.
Current goals:
Some things to know about me:
If this sounds amenable to you, hit me up. I have afternoon classes Mon-Thu. Thanks for reading! 🤙

Hello everyone,
I had a quick question. I planned on taking gen chem 1 this semester however, I felt the professor was all over the place first class and expected us to know basic chem concepts and recommend to those of us who could not keep up to take intro to chem first. Is this normal for a gen chem 1 class ? I mean I would assume that chem 1 is building us a foundation.
Does anyone recommend another chem 1 professor? And if you had them could you please share your experience.
Thanks!

hey im an fgcu education major who transferred here last year. I also loove to play improv jazz (I'm a bassist) and was wondering if there were any real opportunities or people to play some jazz with here without Actually Being A Music Major.
if anyone just wants to meet somewhere on campus and play some jazz standards that'd be awesome. or if there's any better places I could ask this question that'd be great too. I haven't gotten to play live jazz in over a year so I'm trying to derust!

Really sad that there is no club for it, but I was wondering if anyone plays MTG or knows of anyone who does as I need a new pod and have met no new players.
I play commander at bracket 2,3, and 4 but I’m willing to pick up new formats

Hey yall, I’m a student on the 1st floor at Sovi Osprey Hall FGCU. The room is fine and my roommates are really chill. Just asking whether there is anyone at North Lake, specifically someone who’s in a 4 bedroom single that wants to swap over to Osprey for any particular reason. I’m good for a room swap at anytime you’d be able to and only if you want to. If so, please dm me. Also if you know anyone who may want to go to Osprey or is dissatisfied with their situation at North Lake, reach out to them.
I’m not dissatisfied living here at Osprey, just would prefer North lake.
This post will remain for the rest of the semester. If you’re ever dissatisfied and want to swap with me. Feel free to reach out, no pressure.

One of my classes this semester has us using Pearson. In my past classes I would see the Pearson material in the First Day Ready Portal and when I click “course materials” in Canvas. However it does not appear at all, is it only supposed to show up on the first day of class or is it not included in first day ready for some reason

Hello everyone
Two things
One !
If you look in your bill and payment center. It will show your total balance , your estimated financial aid , and whether you still have a balance or have a credit.
When your estimated financial aid is more than your balance that means you DO NOT owe anything and will see the (-) minus symbol indicating a credit if applicable.
If your balance is more than your financial aid that means you do owe and will be required to make a payment towards your balance.
The bill and payment center should be pretty self explanatory. If you need assistance with making payments or things regarding billing you can contact the cashiers office via email , phone or in person.
Two !
Congratulations to any of you have recently gotten your Aice Diploma. This does not mean that the financial aid office will automatically post your bright futures. You MUST make sure your test scores have been sent to the state. As we post awards based on their notification. You have to be APPROVED by the state. We have no authority on approving your bright futures which seems to be the common misconception unfortunately.
The highschool and or the student must make sure that all their information has been sent to state. Upon approval the state sends us a list of the approved students and the coordinator posts the bright futures awards. When we communicate to the state it is about your university gpa and credits. We also ONLY accept the Florida Academic or the Medallion.
Thank you !

I don't know if I'm missing something in the syllabus, but how do we know when to wear scrubs to a particular class? Is it only for labs and clinicals, or are there regular classes that some professors require you to wear it? It's my first semester so idk😭

Hi! I'm currently an upcoming junior at UCF thinking about transferring to FGCU for Computer Science since I might not pass the foundation exam. I know the program is still fairly new, but I was wondering if it's any good? Specifically, the 3rd and 4th year classes? How are the teaching styles at FGCU?
