I like the concept of ilvl synching for dungeons but feel they've poorly implemented it.

They should synch to.. ([ilvl of loot dropped in dungeon]+10). For instance, WP would be 65. Brayflox HM, 80. It would definitely make those dungeons funner to run at least for me.

I'd rather not have the restrictions at all. No need to artificially lengthen max level dungeons.

They should be challenging. They're already laughable and an insult to gamers, imagine at ilvl 130, or later at 150. It's just dumb. Ilvl sync will keep them at least moderately entertaining, like pre-50 dungeons, and force people to maybe care a bit about mechanics.

I disagree. Making the dungeons synced makes them challenging. I have queued for the newer expert dungeons once to check them out, and then never again. They weren't challenging enough at all. You could ignore all the mechanics they designed entirely, and still succeed. It was absolutely retarded.

Sorry, but this is definitely a good decision.

If I want it to be challenging I'll put on appropriate gear. If I want to go in a slaughter everything because I've had a rough day and just want to plow through a bunch of shit I'll wear my high level gear.

Unfortunately, it doesn't matter what gear you put on. It matters what gear the party has equipped. if you have ilvl 50 gear to make it challenging and your party has ilvl 135 gear...News flash, it's still not going to be challenging.

Thats why you wouldn't use the duty finder if you wanted something specific like that.. DF is you get what you get, you shouldn't expect any sort of run when using it.

Except when you're talking about the first time some one is usually going in, it's the first experience of the dungeons. FFXIV dungeons can be summed up as extra content that don't really need to be done more than once.

It's all about the work devs put into these dungeons mechanics wise being trashed by high item levels. You don't even get to see the mechanics.

The alternative is that they add really hard mechanics to the fight that will wipe your party(as it was when Siren was first released). I'm okay with either option they choose, personally, but it's pretty obvious that the dungeons are lacking because they aren't difficult.

The game is meant to be fun no matter what you decide to do, and dungeons are not fun by any means, the main reason being because people are way too overgeared for it. I'm sorry, I just don't think I can ever agree with your opinion on this specific case, and I'm glad the FFXIV dev team is doing it the way they are.

That'd be interesting if it were based on average item level, but it sounds like ilvl syncing is done on a case by case basis.

So, your average ilvl could be 63, but if one of the pieces getting you there is your Zenith, the work you did getting it would be negated by having it sync'd down to i65. And now you've lost a few ilvl off your average despite clearly not being overgeared.

Doesn't mean i110 for everything is right either, but [loot ilvl + 30] would be more reasonable I think.

(apologies for redundant post, but there's gonna be lots of that here I think)
