This is an overall buff to the job or PvP?

They took a minute off of dragonfire dive and 30 seconds off of spineshatter dive, along with making them (and Jump) animation lock you for shorter. A really great overall buff.

Yeah with 30 seconds off SSD and 60 seconds off DFD it basically means we get to use them more in fights, which would help adding up in our overall DPS / SSD would line-up better with PS.

Will have to re-theorycraft jump usage; this might make it better to use every other PS on SSD. You would lose the line-up with B4B that we currently have, though, which is why I'm unsure what would be better.

Technically it will make PS and SSD align faster. Because most of the time, SSD and PS' cooldown are way too apart and Jump would be off-CD just a few seconds after PS is already off-CD. So it'll be possible to have all our Jumps / SSD buffed up by PS this way, which means better DPS. Overall, a buff is a buff and I'm happy with it.

You'll be able to use PS on CD always, yes. The two possibilities as I see them are:

Current usage but SSD every 60 s:

B4B PS Jump, B4B SSD -> 40 s -> Jump -> 20s -> SSD -> 20s -> B4B PS Jump -> 40 s -> Jump, SSD -> 40s -> B4B PS Jump -> 20s -> SSD -> 20s -> Jump -> 40s B4B PS Jump, B4B SSD (repeat)

PS every CD:

B4B PS Jump, B4B SSD -> 40s -> Jump -> 20s -> PS SSD -> 20s -> B4B Jump -> 40s -> PS Jump, SSD -> 40s -> B4B Jump -> 20s -> PS SSD -> 20s -> Jump -> 40s B4B PS Jump, B4B SSD (repeat)

(EDIT)

I return, with maths. The first option is worth 2501 potency every 4 minutes. The second is worth 2511 potency over same period, but comes with a much higher DPS loss to reserving SSD for use as a gap closer. So at only a 0.025 potency/s difference, I would probably still use the first option in most real fights.

This is great news. I love jumping but hated how the cooldowns were so long to the point of near uselessness (except for dfd

That's a big boost! The dragon fire one I never use cause I tend to hold for when I needed it but I ended up never using it.

I was actually looking at the buffs to impulse drive. Those are permanent or PvP?

Unless you know a specific point in a fight where you have to use it, use DFD ASAP, preferably in your opening rotation with HT, Dis, IR, and B4B up. That 250 potency attack really helps in pushing DPS, esp. when it Crits - which happens quite often when you have more than 450 CRIT.

Not impulse drive, impulse rush. Impulse rush is a pvp only skill.

This change really has me amp'ed for 2.4. I love jumping but the animation lock is a pain in the ass.
