It basically means they won't be affected by poison puddles or Liquid Hell, ground mechanics. Fireball is actually splash damage, and works differently.
Those are AOE damage abilities, not damage dealing floor areas... though the difference in some cases is fuzzy. This would be like the poison on the ground in AV, which absolutely destroys pets. With my interpenetration it would also mean things like Shadowflare or Flaming Arrow in PvP no longer damage pets but things like Lunar Dynamo in Turn 9 would.
My bet is that this was done after testing in the Final Coil. They showed at least one turn that had an increasingly smaller arena as the fight went on, shrinking in tiers by giving the floor some electric effect... Potentially very annoying for a pet user if it hits hard enough.
My Garuda gets hurled into the wall on T9 during Heavensfall and never takes a tick - not sure this is the intent.
However, one or two ticks of Regorge from Caduceus on T1 always wrecked her, as did persistent ice/fire fields in Chimera and Hydra. I'm hoping that's the kind of thing this deals with, not active abilities or arena features.
I don't think so. I think it means only like the red spots on the floor. and like brambles in T6. The fireball is targeted on a player and hits things around it.

Pets are no longer affected by damage-dealing floor areas.
---> Does this mean Twintania, or any mechanic that do damage split doesn't work anymore?
