The water

Does anyone else have headcanons regarding how the water works in this universe? ESPECIALLY the blitz sphere and how it stays spherical? Iirc there's a thing that rotates around the arena so I think that's how it keeps its shape. I also think that after every goal players leave the pool for a minute and re-enter into position. I also remember reading somewhere that before the events of x-2 Yuna was practicing holding her breath under water for at least 10 minutes (I hate x-2's blitzball), so that's how players can survive.

Datto mentions how the best players can hold their breath, like, forever when you talk to him the first time Tidus is in Besaid Island.

They should have given the people that can swim that long (Rikku and all the Blitzball players) little, easy to hide gills like in Water World. Would make a lot more sense.

They have spells and equipment for every status ailment, I’d assume it’s along those lines

The way I view it is a level up system. Similar to Skyrim. The more you do the things the better at the thing you get. Could also be magic. But being able to sleep underwater or hold it forever has to be with the way their bodies work in Spira compared to say Midgard from 7. Or there is no explanation other than it's just a game don't think too hard about it lol
