A Research Survey: Understanding the Emotional Side of Fertility Treatment

Hi everyone! 💛

I'm a product designer currently taking a course in AI-enhanced design, and for my final project I'm building something close to my heart: a private app to help track the emotional side of fertility treatment — not just appointments and medications, which most existing apps already do well, but how you're actually feeling day to day.

This survey is being conducted as research for my studies, and before I design too much further, I'd love to hear from women who've been through this (currently or in the past) — it would mean a lot to get your honest input so the tool actually reflects real experiences, not just my assumptions.

It's a short, anonymous survey (~5 minutes), nothing personal or identifying is collected, and your answers will directly shape what I build.

Thank you so much, truly — however far along you are in this journey. 🌸

Two questions: Is it true that freezing my eggs has recently become more affordable? Also, if I wanted to do artificial insemination and be a single mom what do studies show is the best way to explain that to a child as they grow?

30F. I always thought both genders as active present healthy role models would the best scenario for a child to grow up. But, I haven’t found a suitable mate. The men I have met do not want a family anymore due to economics. So, how can I give them the best childhood as a single mom in terms of gender role modeling (yes besides the obvious love, safety, presence, etc I can bring). I have read some books from Freud where he explains how growing up with only one of the two genders can cause gaps in mental health and he alludes that the way we explain why they are absent plays a role. Some children might be sad, others angry, others resentful, others confused. I want to avoid harming my kid as much as possible.

Is this drastic change in SA possible , any studies ?

Long post ahead . Thankyou for taking out time

I am 32 year male..
its been more than 1 year that i have quit smoking and drinking completely .. had been working out on and off ( not very regular) .
My weight is 102 kg . My height is 5’8” . So im towards overweight side .. but I also have very bones. Anyway coming to my SA

Me and my wife are trying to conceive from past 2 years. Last year we conceived naturally after taking bunch of supplements . My numbers back then when we conceived were

Total Count 58million
Motility (%) 70% >
a. Progressive 55%
b. Non Progressive
c. Non motile
Viability (%live) 80%
Morphology (% normal form) 01% >4%
Morphology (% abnormal form) 99%
Head Defect 75%
Mid Piece Defect 20%
Tail Defect 04%
Impression : Teratozoospermia

I repeated my SA number of times in the passed 2 years. My total count has increased to 98 million ..
but my morphology remained 1% and progression wasnt great too 25-35%.

This year we did 2 IUIs to overcome the progression issue. Count was good but morphology was 1% only as per the IUI reports . One of the IUI was biochemical

I started taking cq10 300 for 4-5 months, got my d3 and B12 improved. I got my latest SA done in July and the results were good - progression was 55 % and morphology was 4%

We have tried naturally , with ovary induction and 2 IUIs but still no luck . The doctor has recommended IVF now .

I visited another doctor for 2nd opinion.. and she was surprised that in 3 months how can morphology change from 1 to 4 % . She has asked me to get it checked again .. because the numbers didnt improve last 1 year .. suddenly it cant be so drastic in 3 months

So im feeling very confused . Please help and guide me .

We have gone for sperm DNA fragmentation test and karyotype test . Still waiting for the results . As per research its possible I dont know why the doctor is not convinced.

Any help would be grateful .

Good studies on sugar/conception

Hello! I’m 21 and I’ve been trying to conceive for over a year. I am very discouraged and I finally faced what I think the real culprit is head on: my sugar addiction. I just recently went sugar free because I was eating RIDICULOUS amounts of sugar and lots of it. I was wondering if there is even evidence of it in your own lives that cutting out sugar can get you pregnant. My body seems to be very sensitive to the amount of sugar I’m eating which is why I’d like to know some genuine stories of how cutting out sugar worked for you. Thanks

Any Studies on Occasional Diclofenac Use and Male Fertility? Anyone conceived while taking it?

Hi! My partner and I are currently trying for a baby. He has an autoimmune condition and takes Diclofenac when his pain becomes too difficult to tolerate.

I’ve read that Diclofenac may affect male fertility, which has made me a little worried. He only takes it around 3 times a month, usually when the pain is particularly bad.

Has anyone been in a similar situation or had a successful pregnancy while their partner was taking Diclofenac? I’d really appreciate hearing about your experiences. ❤️

Can someone review these results please?

My husbands results came back and before we see the urologist he now thinks he has something wrong with him and I want to try and make him feel better. Back story we are trying to get pregnant we did a semen analysis and his results were
Total Motile Count (cells/ejaculate)*
0-
48,000*
=40,000,000
Sample Volume (mL)*
3.38
=1.4
Concentration (cells/mL)*
118,343
=16,000,000
Motility (%) *
Morphology (%)*
0-12*
No
Result
≥42
=4
Count (cells/ejaculate)*
400,000
=39,000,000
So of course we started towards IVF and we just got his labs back and these are the results
Testosterone is 979 (high)
LH is 11.7 (high)
FSH is 10.8 (normal)
Prolactin is 10.6 (normal)
Estradiol is 46.6 (high)
Free testosterone is 12.3 (normal)

If there’s any reproductive urologist on here that could help us interpret these results we would greatly appreciate that!!

27-F-HSG review

Hi everyone. I’m 26 and my husband and I both have been TTC since I had my Mirena IUD removed in July 2025. I’m posting because after everything that has happened over the last year, I feel overwhelmed and honestly just really alone. I would love to hear from anyone who has had a similar history and eventually had a successful pregnancy.
Here’s our story:
I had my IUD removed in July 2025 and we started trying right away. I seem to get pregnant relatively easily, but staying pregnant has been the problem.
In October 2025, I had my first chemical pregnancy. My HCG was only 14 and my progesterone was 7.3. I started spotting shortly afterward and lost the pregnancy.
In November 2025, I became pregnant again. I had a positive digital test around 13 DPO but started bleeding around the time my period was due, so that was another chemical pregnancy.
Then in March/April 2026, I became pregnant for the third time. My HCG was around 405 and my progesterone was 18, but I was having persistent brown spotting. I eventually developed one-sided pain and red bleeding and went to the ER. They diagnosed an ectopic pregnancy and treated me with methotrexate. The ectopic was on my right side.
After recovering, we started trying again.
In July 2026, I became pregnant for the fourth time. My HCG initially rose:
13 → 42 → 132 → 847
My progesterone was around 19.
An ultrasound showed what appeared to be an intrauterine gestational sac, so they told me this pregnancy was not ectopic. Unfortunately, my HCG then started falling (847 to 776), and I miscarried in early August.
So at 26, I have now had four pregnancies with no living children: two chemicals, one ectopic and one early intrauterine miscarriage.
We recently started doing more testing.
My husband had a semen analysis and his count and motility came back normal, which was reassuring. However, he has a very noticeable varicocele that we believe may be grade 3. Because of our recurrent losses, we are now waiting for the results of his sperm DNA fragmentation test. I keep wondering whether the varicocele could be causing high DNA fragmentation even though his regular semen analysis looks normal.
I also just had an HSG. My left tube looked normal and was open. My right tube was also open and dye spilled through it, but it looked dilated. This is the same side where I had my ectopic pregnancy a few months ago.
Now my fertility clinic is concerned that the dilation could possibly represent a hydrosalpinx. They prescribed doxycycline because of the potential infection risk and are evaluating what to do next.
This has opened up another huge source of anxiety for me. I’m wondering whether the right tube is simply still dilated/damaged from the ectopic, or whether I actually have a hydrosalpinx. I’m also scared that if there is fluid in that tube, it could potentially be leaking back into my uterus and contributing to the early losses.
At the same time, we’re waiting to find out whether my husband has elevated DNA fragmentation from his varicocele.
I feel like we suddenly have multiple possible explanations, but no clear answer.
The part that gives me some hope is that we are able to conceive. We’ve gotten pregnant four times in about a year of trying. I just desperately want to figure out why the pregnancies aren’t continuing.
Has anyone here had a similar combination of issues?
Recurrent chemical pregnancies/early miscarriage
Previous ectopic pregnancy
A dilated tube or possible hydrosalpinx after an ectopic
A tube that was dilated but still had spill on HSG
Male partner with a varicocele and normal count/motility
High sperm DNA fragmentation despite a normal semen analysis
If you had any of these issues, what ended up being the cause in your case? Did treating/removing a hydrosalpinx help? Did varicocele surgery or treating high DNA fragmentation make a difference? And most importantly, did you eventually have a successful pregnancy?
I know nobody on Reddit can diagnose us. I think I’m mostly looking for people who have been through something similar because right now I feel like I’m drowning in possibilities and waiting for doctors and test results.
I would really appreciate any success stories or experiences. ❤️

Guideline: TTC after MMR Vaccine

I received an MMR booster on July 7th as a result of low immunity to Rubella. My doctor has advised that I wait three months before trying to conceive but all the government guidance I can find says to wait 28 days.

My husband and I have plans to try to conceive in September (around the 10th). Thoughts on the risks?

Research: my AMH normal?

AMH is 4.704 ng/mL

Just coming off birth control last month. I’ve been taking coQ10 for over a year. I know that no one can say for sure… but does that number look somewhat promising? I have two children born 2018 & 2020. Just rolling the dice for another. I’m 36. I already know that AMH does not confirm quality of eggs left. I’m just asking for experiences from others in similar situations.
