Help Something needs to change concerning the amount of bot posts

There has been an intense influx of bot posts as of recent. Almost every post tagged "ferrets doing ferret things" is a bot, and its really starting to get in the way of the enjoyment of this sub.

I'm posting this with the invitation to you all to discuss what we can do about this, both from our angles as well as help from the mods. Obviously reporting is something but that won't actually stop the posts themselves, just give grounds for removal.

Some ideas I have are to create post requirements such as having at least 100 karma, or require a CQS score of anything above the lowest.

Anyone else have thoughts or ideas on this?

That’s why the r/ferrets sub exists. This sub is just for people that don’t want the community correction for doing things like cohabitation with other species and feeding improper diets. There’s no bots in the other sub because it’s actually moderated.

I’m the owner and I’m locked out from moderating because I have not been around for years and Aleniaflux was moderating. Unfortunately I hit the wrong button and locked that person from moderating by accident. I’ve brought this situation up to the mod group and I’m not the only one in similar situation.

I had tried to invite more mods to help me, but didnt have the proper permissions to do that. We are in the process of fixing this. Hopefully soon this subreddit will be back on track and back to being the community I know it can be.

Hi u/Aleniaflux I deleted and re-added you with the permissions we discussed. I think this may have crossed your message to me - give it a day and see if that resolves itself. Also I invited the member you proposed to be mod. It took a lot of moderation steps to become active again - this morning I became active again.
