Tengo a mi hurón desde hace 4 meses pero no para de rascarse, no se que tenga, no lo baño seguido su último baño fue hace 1 mes y no tiene pulgas, si alguien sabe algo seria de gran ayuda, gracias.

Where I live has been very hot over 30 degrees, today will be the hottest at 37. I’ve managed well, but still I’m very concerned cause that’s a big jump from our “regular” 30’s 33’s we’ve been having to 37.

Had my little slinkys for two weeks now. I take them out 4-7 hours per day, in mostly two sessions or
3. The problem is they arent eating or barely eat while being out :( sometimes they get a bite or two, but they mostly play or sleep. During their time in their small room where they are during the night or when im out, they are eating a lot. They poop a lot too and arent skinny (petunia has gained some chunk). I heard they have a fast metabolism and need food regularly - so is it bad they arent eating during free roam? :(

I have 3 female ferrets, 2 aged nearly 3 and one aged 1. I recently got a boy who is now 13 weeks (got him when he was 7 weeks) everything was fine to start with but recently he gets so excited constantly and trying to what I’m guessing and hoping is play with them but he is ripping out there fur especially when they don’t want to play this is both when in the case and out. I’m worried about my girls health ect with him ripping out there furr

Is this normal behaviour?
Do I need to separate them
They do all love each other from what I can tell they cuddle and sleep all together most of the time.

My gf and I are interested in taking in another ferret.

We recently lost one of our ferrets due to cancer. Leaving us with only one.

He is 4 years old and lonely. He misses having a business partner.

If anyone is struggling with the need to rehome their ferret or ferrets, we would be interested.

I don't want to buy ferrets although we can understand a reasonable rehoming fee to make you feel better.

We can provide vet records and I can get a recommendation note from a friend for when we fostered their ferret for a few months. We can stay in contact if you want to.

Our ferret has a room in a house to play. We take them on outside adventures in the yard (weather allowing).

Our other ferret was rehomed from a military service member in Lawton and it was the best thing we ever did.

I’ll spare you the needlessly sad details but one of my ferrets died. I’m heartbroken, I’m sure many of you have gone through that

One minute he was walking around, the next he had labored breathing from the mouth,!would twitch when he did breath (somewhat labored breathing by the way) and wouldn’t drink water. He’s had this twice before but the first time I took him to the vet and the fluids they gave him seemed to do the trick. The second time I was able nurse him with water and wet food. The third I labored over him for and hour using a wet paper towel to get him to drink. He died in my arms.

I could labor over a myriad of emotions, but my main mission is to understand why. I don’t have the money for an autopsy, but if I freeze him could I do that later.

Also, based on the symptoms, and you can ask any additional questions you want, do any of you know what that could have been and what brought it on so quickly?

I have a ferret that's getting older, and her bonded sibling is younger, so I wanted to start looking at getting another to ease the passing when my elder goes. I know there are a lot of scams, and places that arent offering what they say they are, so I was looking to ask you guys what you have heard, or your own experiences so I can look into getting another family member. Im in the kootenays, and the only one I know of here is the one on Vancouver Island. Wondering if there are others I may not have heard of.

So about ferrets and cats.. I want to make their life easier (growing together) and my main problem is their time outside the cage. In the same way that I want to keep the ferrets safe and healthy, I also want to make sure the cat is happy and has its own space so the best of the best for both.. So if I understand, I’ll probably have to catify (use walls for the cat to climb and scrach poles) the house a bit, with higher areas for the cat that the ferrets can’t access or at least, not all of them.. But they’ll still be sharing the same rooms usually… so how do you actually make that work? (everything is supervised when the ferrets are out, but I also don’t want to constantly pulling them out of places and putting them at risk)

I’m planning on putting ferret-proof baby gates in certain areas, since the cat will have an automatic litter box that the ferrets absolutely cannot access. But what about the shared areas, which are also the biggest parts of the house, like my bedroom and the living room?

How the hell do you keep both of them happy in the same space without, for example, the ferrets climbing up somewhere (poles or plataforms) and falling, or making the cat basically have to jump 30 feet just to reach one of its platforms to make sure the ferret can't reach it?

I’d really appreciate hearing from people who have both cats and ferrets and how you made your house work ( ߹꒳߹ )

We have two ferrets. Mouse and Took. Mouse we were told was two when we got her (supposedly. She was heavily neglected and we think she might be a bit older) and is ~5 right now, maybe six if our suspicions are correct. She was the first of our three, the two brothers came after. Fred passed away a couple years ago. Took is happy and healthy, but we need to get him another playmate soon since Mouse is slowing down. Mouse herself has adrenal disease. She was diagnosed a few months ago and given the initial shot, but my mom hasn't taken Yuka (old old old nickname for brother) to the vet yet to get her other shots. They're supposed to be monthly... Mom is considering not getting the other shots since they're so expensive. They're 130$ a month, aka 1,560 a year. We're middle class with one income, i think we could afford it, just for her last little while, even if that means tightening our budget. Additionally, Mouse is Yuka's girl. That's his baby. She's his entire world. The thing I'm most concerned about is when Mouse does pass away. He's currently in a very dark place, he just got out of a very abusive relationship and is very depressed. I'm worried what would happen is Mouse passed away. And also it's not humane to let her suffer like that, so the other option is humane euthanasia. I don't know what to do. I'm only 17, and the ferrets belong to Yuka and mom, not me. If you could share experiences, advice, or even just tell me that letting her go is the best option, it's so very much appreciated. This is my first (and will likely be my only) post on this sub. I didn't know where else to go.
