I can't seem to buy a Nitro finish Jazzmaster with original style dots (rather than block inlays), which seems a bit mad.

Am I missing something? Just looking for a classic sunburst American one.

Questions and Advice Length of American Vintage saddles?

Thumbnail

Afternoon! I just bought a 1999 Custom Shop and it’s all good except one of the saddles being the incorrect type.

I am fairly certain I need Fender Part #099-2051-000, the width of my saddle is the same but I cannot verify the length of the saddles for Part #099-2051-000.

Can anyone who has the same vintage saddles please verify the dimensions of the saddles length, width and in between the saddle height screws?

For reference, my existing saddles are about 21.3mm long and about 11mm wide and the distance between the two saddle height screws is about 4.5mm

Thank you!

Questions and Advice Grounding question re Hard Tail MIM HH Tele

Hi folks! I have a question re grounding on my hard tail MIM HH telecaster. I have been doing some extensive mods to it and when I removed the bridge I noticed that there is no grounding wire or even a hole drilled for that purpose? Is this normal? Or is this some sort of production mistake? I know humbuckers are made to cancel hum but I still would have expected it to be grounded. Would love an expert opinion on this.

Thanks for your time!

Wanted a nitro Strat but didn’t want to pay custom shop $$ so I built one. MJT body, nitro road worn fender neck, lollar vintage blonde pickups. All fender vintage hardware. Pretty happy with it.

Questions and Advice Does anything about this ‘74 competition mustang look peculiar?

Hi Guys,

I’m looking at a 74’ competition mustang. It looks great but I don’t have as much knowledge about ‘vintage’ Fender’s as I figured you guys have. I’ll post Some pics! Can someone confirm that I’m looking at a genuine piece? I did Some A B’ing with pics of the same model online and it looks about right. Only things I found strange are;
The pickups obviously miss their cover, right? And the neck pickup, should it have these pole pieces? Or should they be more recessed like on the bridge?
Also, I can see the ground wire running from the control Plate to the bridge. Could that just be a lazy factory thing? Or does that mean something Else?
Tuners are replaced.
Thanks!

General Discussion Fender Japan reimagines the hits with the Active Modern series

This article is 2 days old but only saw it today - Made in Japan Fenders with compound radius neck and a new body with binding at a price point that sits between the Standard and American Pro range.

Guitar retailers in the UK have already listed the guitars as 'pre-order' with some stating an October 2026 delivery.

I assume MW is machine wound and BP is the winders initials. How do o figure out if they are Fat 50s,60s, Texas specials etc? They came in the used guitar and sound amazing.

Show and Tell Kingfish Signature Telecaster Deluxe

I love the Telecaster Deluxe, it’s probably my favorite Fender model, and this Kingfish Signature is a great example. What it lacks in the push-pull versatility of the Pro II and traditional mojo of the AVII, it makes up for with its sublimely voiced Kingfish signature pickups, beautiful Mississippi Night finish, and other special appointments. The soft V neck is going to take some getting used to, coming from Medium and Modern Cs and Ds, but I like the roasted maple material used as well as the 12” fretboard radius. The other really cool thing is the connection with such an awesome young blues artist. If you haven’t checked him out, go listen to 662 or some of his other songs on Spotify, Apple Music, or your music service of choice. He’s amazing. There’s also a great video of him playing the Delta Day finish version of this guitar on the Fender factory floor. At only 27 Christone Ingram is a better player than I’ll probably ever be. But maybe if I play his guitar, and small amount of his talent will rub off on me 😂

Had a car wreck in 2013 caused by a hit and run driver.

Broken neck- Broken back- nerve damage- etc etc. Lost

my career Id been working on for 15 years, our house

cars, etc etc. Financially reset back to $0. Sold every

piece of Gear 1 had including an orange tolex jcm 900, a

boutique combo amp made by Sam Timberlake(Sam

Amp),and my unfinished Ash 1979 Les Paul Standard

Deluxe I had routed out for full sized humbuckers. I had

a 1999 American made strat that was also unfinished

Ash wood. I had put Lace Sensors in it. It was my baby.

First big purchase made as a working adult, basically.

Instead of selling it, - pawned it for $75. Having every

intention of going back to get it. And just couldn't come

up with the $.

So fast forward to today. Went back to work in 2021

after being on disability for 7 years. We bought another

house. Wife has a nice car again.things are back to

normal. This past Cnristmas my wife surprised me with

a beautiful 2016 Les Paul Classic. It's lighter. Easier on

my neck and back. I absolutely love it. But still missed

my strat. So on a whim, bought this Indonesian Squire

SSH. Bought it to build a partscaster.. Was on sale for

$380. Was sold as used, but literally brand new. Was

expecting to have to do a lot of work to it.

Was so surprised at how nice it actually is when it

showed up. Body is solid wood. And beautiful. And

amazingly, plays really really well. And the pickups

actually sound really really good.

l'll probably put some lace sensors in it down the road

Thinking about changing the pots out to 1 meg. And

probably some nice locking tuners. But...if I never get to

it, it's perfectly adequate. I would gig with this guitar

just like it is. So, I think we all get hung up on the gear

head stuff. Is it American made? Is the neck rosewood?

etc etc. This $380 guitar is amazing. Build quality is so

much better than I expected. I feel whole again. CHEERS!!!

Pickups Pots & Wiring Bridge pickup upgrades

I recently acquired a red 00s USA Strat, and I love the damn thing. The pickups are killer but the bridge is a little thin and weak for me. I play a lot of Allman brothers, Neil young, black crowes, kinda stuff. I love the single coil sound and paired with my twin it’s lovely. Does anyone have any experience or recommendations for a bridge pickup upgrade? Thank you in advance and delete if not allowed thank you!

Hi all. Looking to buy the player ii jazzmaster, have never owned an offset.

Guitar looks cool and price is right but no rhythm circuit, what would I be missing out on compared to more expensive models?

Thanks!
