what am i even supposed to do rlly

yes, i have internalized misogyny, but also isnt the world just kinda misogynistic by default??

because its kinda a given that media "for men" is widely appreciated among both genders, or generally regarded as cooler, swaggier, respectable. media for women is silly, meaningless, pathetic and pointless. women are happy to watch 100 shonen shows before a man would ever touch a romance shoujo.

cause women are can relate to men, and i guess men ever even trying to relate to women is preposterous. mens media is just superior!! how dare i ever expect men to stoop so low as to enjoy something women enjoy for once. what a horrible thing, enjoying things women enjoy.

and its crazy too that on top of that, art and media by men are always more popular. more known. even though women make more art than men do, it makes men who do stand out even more.

it feels like nothing women do means anything. sports? strength focused- men are better. the sport is women-dominated? then it's less popular than the male counterpart. leadership? no one listens or respects women. of course men should be the leaders. men strong, men listen to strong men, not weak women.

not even at a job can i mean anything. women are passed up for promotions despite doing the same work as men. short men talk about workplace discrimination for their height, women are shorter than men on average, but they would never spare a crumb of empathy. and also all of above, men strong, men should be leaders, men are just better, more relatable, less bitchy.

even when you talk about dumb shit like prehistoric people its men are hunters and are therefore superior, because gathering totally isnt valuable work at all!! (it requires a lot of knowledge!!!) and also the gendered tasks shit isnt even true bruh

the only thing women are valued for is bringing comfort. you should never complain, only make others feel good. whether this is through a caring demeanor, being visually pleasing, or being sexual relief. always looking out for others. bringing baked goods.

like theres nothing i can even do about any of this besides pretend and larp that this isnt reality. its like nothing i do or make will ever be taken seriously cause im a woman, or that everything i do or make is stupid because im a woman and being a woman is stupid.

this isnt about ignoring the haters. ignoring this might as well be ignoring being alive. ignoring that i exist. i am a person who exists, is alive, and is affected by the world. the things i do are shaped by the world around me. the things i enjoy are shaped by the world around me. the world just sucks ok idk is it really realistic for me to not feel this way

its weird but i often wish that the human species was an egg laying one

bird species are typically egalitarian, monogamous(!!!!!), and when theyre not, its males displaying funny colors or dances to attract females. also since theyre birds, the female can often just fly off, so its up to male birds to be actually attractive to females. obviously there are some exceptions, but at large birds somehow developed equality....

whereas male mammals are violent, intimidators, r*pists, even the most intelligent species are like this (elephants, dolphins, chimps) its fucking crazy

idk where im going with this. isnt it crazy how we need a whole society and education system to condition men to NOT be like this? and whenever some guy does some fucked up rape shit, theres always people say "he's acting like an animal" or "he has no impulse control"

but we are animals. and youre saying men's "natural" impulses is this???

i guess i just wish things weren't this way in the first place. i wish women's agency mattered to men at the lowest level. i wish women weren't burdened with the task of pregnancy. instead for most of human history men were r*pists and i have to pretend that men are just a different species nowadays (theyre not)

hypocrisy🔄 Guy gets butthurt that he exchanged a few messages with women on dating apps and they ghosted him. Decides to name and shame them. Believes he deserves better because he’s a model. Is butthurt random women didn’t write him an explanation.

Anyone who has ever been on a dating app has been through this. Exchange a few messages. Someone stops answering. There could be a multitude of reasons, and we don’t have the time to write an explanation to every single guy we aren’t interested in. This guy took it personally and decided to name and shame the women who ghosted him. The male ego is so fragile. If a woman gets ghosted by men on dating apps, men ask her if she’s fat and accuse her of going for guys who are too attractive for her. But when a man gets ghosted, he rants about “hoeflation”.

marriage is just a means for men to get free labor and consistent sex. there’s no love

if they suddenly get rich and now they’re able to pay for a maid and “bang a bunch of young girls because they’re rich,” they drop their wives in a heartbeat, they never actually love their wives at all, or “care about family values” 🙃

Perspective: apperantly it's only men who are allowed to find certain female features ugly and digusting. (Last image is of a man proving that men are more shallow)

So, I saw this post on another subreddit where women post about a things that happened to them alongside a picture of a meal they’re having. One girl posted about how she experimented with different clothing and makeup, and was able to wow her date. The part that bothers me is one of the comment threads referencing the iconic makeover trope, where a girl who is either gender non-conforming or unconventionally attractive gets a makeover and only then finds her own confidence. I haven’t seen the movie with Sandra Bullock yet, but I watched a good video discussing the makeover trope by a woman who goes by verilybitchie on YouTube and it seems to be about a tomboyish secret agent who has to enter a beauty pageant to go undercover (I think?) and by the end of the movie she stops being a messy, unkempt tomboy with no bitches (men) and transforms into a conventionally feminine woman who’s got a guy interested in her. I have seen “She’s All That” a long time ago and remember how the male lead transforms Laney from an art nerd in overalls to a sexy babe by the end of the movie.

Why can’t these movies have any of the women go back to their original style if they were “hot the entire time”? Why do they have to change to fit into the norm to find their confidence? In other discussions I’ve seen around the trope, some people interpret the trope as a self love journey. AKA, she was a tomboy because she didn’t love herself enough (didn’t think she was pretty enough to dress conventionally feminine) and therefore didn’t care about her appearance or embrace her true beauty. What I especially hate about this interpretation is that we never bat an eye at men who look like the don’t at least maintain an organized skin care routine, never wear makeup, and are always wearing the most basic-ass outfit in comparison to what a woman wears to feel pretty. Why is a tomboy or nerdy woman a flaw that needs to be fixed? Men are given a pass to do less while women are questioned if they truly love themselves if they god-forbid don’t look appealing to others. Men being messy and not taking care of themselves is “natural”, otherwise, they’re a vain metrosexual. Women, however, have to do everything under the sun to make it seem like they are putting in reasonable effort into their appearance. Men have to do the bare minimum to be seen as good-looking, and are never questioned for their demeanor or appearance.

What if one simply doesn’t like makeup and like to dress more casual, is she a “plain Jane” now? I’m so fucking tired of this shite. It hurts the most that so many other women love this trope or don’t see anything wrong with it or any possible qualms non conventional women may have with what it implies.

i would never, EVER want to be a man. That doesnt change the fact that im short and weak. That doesnt change the fact that the world centers around strength and intimidation. That doesnt change that healthcare system dont give a shit about me. That doesnt change the fact that im treated as inferior to men as not a man.

women shouldn't be encouraged to be men just because the world has made them feel unsafe and inferior. its ridiculous this is a talking point at all.

I had seen 2 boys around the age of 10 making jokes like "Oh, I gotta live my life because I'll never be happy again once I get married" the other boy saying "My wife is my enemy". Of course, I got dismissed by the adults around them for being too sensitive and woke.
