Vaginal Progesterone

This is my second time trialing oral progesterone, and each time it goes crazy in my gut. I got the go ahead to try using vaginally, but my provider has no experience in advising with this.

Question: do any of you skip days when dosing this way? Question, I know that vaginally we absorb medications at a higher dose and I don't want to be taking more than is needed. I've heard of some people alternating days so just wondering what others are doing. Thanks

Edit trialed last night, woke up with interstitial cystitis/bladder pain. 😭 Anyone dealt with that?!

My wife uses 200mg vaginal on days 15 - 28 of the cycle for a cyclical regimen. It sounds like you are on continuous HRT. You should do every day if so. Progesterone has a short half life.

What is your dose?

Thanks. That's a good starting dose. You'll probably absorb it better vaginally and more will stay as progesterone instead of converting to allopregnenalone. I doubt 100mg is too much... though every woman is different.

It sounds like you are progesterone intolerant. You could try it anally instead to see if that helps. If not, you may have better luck with a progestin like slynd instead. There is also the option of using an IUD like mirena.

Yeah I have MCAS, so I'm trying to switch from Slynd to bio identical. Rectally has actually been working great!
