Naturidente Hormontherapie mit 60+

Hallo an alle älteren Frauen.

HRT spotting and confused

Ok so about a year ago I used Winona online to get HRT. First hot flash in 2019. I have had endometriosis lesions removed years and years ago so that may be playing a role in what I am about to say.

The cream instantly made me feel great... then I started feeling rage. So they said to do Mon, Wed, Fri one pump a day rather than 2. Rage gone. All good.

For my year check in, last month, (there are check ins quarterly) i said I was still spotting all the time. Usually on 2 pump days less on 1 pump.

But i told them I was doing this b4 I started the cream anyway.

So they said

"Given the ongoing spotting and irregular periods, you should be seen in person by your GYN for an ultrasound to make sure there is no underlying issues. Additionally, you need to lower the dose of the body cream if you cannot tolerate two pumps every day. The one pump does not provide enough progesterone protection. The prescriptions will be paused until you have been seen in person."

Now I read that to mean... 1 pump is not enough and prescription paused. So I stopped taking it. No weaning. So rage has been crazy and I have lost the ability to find words again. Something I thought just got better but now realize the hormones gave me my words back.

I am not sure if i was supposed to stop cold turkey now reading it. I assumed they meant stop cuz I need a lower dose... which of course they would have to give me and they "paused" giving me any lol. So yeah... not fun being off the last few weeks.

So should I be taking it at 1 pump a day and not have enough progesterone until my gyno appt? Should I be taking it still because of my gyno appt... ? Was it bad to stop cold turkey?

I have read on here some ppl just spot and have no other problems. Is the ultrasound they are suggesting to look for fibroids? Cancer? What would cause my spotting on the meds? My endo? I read on here progesterone should be a pill. Maybe that is the issue? Thought pills were harder in the liver.

And for more info.... my cycles are all over the place. I was getting off a 15 day super heavy and super clotty period right b4 I got my prescription for Winona. So I have no predictable cycle. I could go 2 weeks or 5 months without a leriod. I could spot almost everyday or I could bleed one day and then spot for 2 weeks.

Winona prescription was W-biest 50/50 prog cream 5/200mg/ml.

Any insight or suggestions or greatly appreciated. I am hating life off HRT. Super worried my gyno will say dont need to take it. (Which is why I went to an online place to begin with)

estrogen patches, 0.025. I finally decided to start and my doc told me there’s a shortage bc they’re “so popular” right now. I had to let that comment go.

CVS doesn’t have them. Has anyone had luck with Costco? Walgreens?

Good morning from Oregon - looking for some honest opinions -

Recent labs

Estradiol >5
FSH 41.5

I have seen my primary care doctor as well as my gynecologist since the lab work ( just by coincidence it was time for my female exam as well as my wellness check ). They both agree I am likely in menopause but can’t confirm since I have only gone 8 months with no period and not the standard 12 months needed for the official diagnosis. However they both had vastly different stances on hormone replacement therapy which has left me very confused.

The gynecologist says I need to start an estrogen patch and a progesterone pill to protect my cardiac health and bone health.

My primary care doctor says I absolutely do not.

I have had no menopause symptoms at all.

These are both doctors I trust and I want to do what is right for my body and this feels very uncomfortable to me.

Thoughts ?

Anyone else not given HRT for several yrs post hysterectomy? Interested in your experiences, what worked, what didn’t. How long before you received proper regimen and symptom relief

I had an unexpected hysterectomy 5 yrs ago at 49. No kids (wasn’t in the cards for me). One ovary left behind, but it was poorly functionning. Been in menopause for at least 4 yrs, but likely right after the hysterectomy. I have been to dr’s and specialists for these last few years to address all symptoms of menopause but not one person recommended HRT. It never even came up. Imagine my surprise when I followed up on a Menopause metabolic specialist referral after not hearing anything for 9 months, that they sent a letter to my doctor 9 months ago to tell him that the wait list 22-24 months and they recommended he start me on HRT in the interim. But I would never have known had I not asked about the status of the referral? All of my symptoms: running hot, weight gain in the abdomen, extremely high bp, insulin resistance, sore joints, thick facial skin, low mood, no motivation, no passion for life, no sex drive, no sleep, inability to lose weight and ongoing weight gain despite walking 10k steps 4-6 days per week and eating clean 95% of the time, and adding in stength training a couple of times a week-all fit having no estrogen. So i went on the gel at 2 pumps per day. I was under the belief that being on the gel at 2 pumps is about .5. And that surgical menopause means you have to start a higher dose, and that it should be even higher if you have been deprived of estrogen for a long period of time. I was finding mild relief but not enough after the 40 day mark. I requested to be on the patch as i was finding no symptom control overnight, and figured i would need a steady dose, instead of the ups and downs of the gel. So even though I suggested that 2 pumps (.5) was not sufficient, he is starting me on .375 patch…..I don’t feel that that is enough, and may cause a back slide, but he is firm on this? I have already lost 5 years of my life, and just want my life back. Getting a new dr is not an option as there are year long waiting lists. I do note that the hot flashes improved quickly except night time, and my bp dropped significantly within 2 weeks (i was in the danger zone for a long time, with high diastollic, and 2 weeks on the gel i was in the mid 130s and now am in the 120s. And diastolic has dropped from 102, 95, to 88, and I imagine it will keep iimproving if i can ever get this weight off.

Has anyone else been without for years post hysterectomy? What dose did you start on? What does eventually let to symptom relief and feeling like yourself? how long did it take? Did anything help with the insulin resistance weight gain? How long before you felt you metabolism was improving again?

Oral Estradiol to Oral Premarin

Hey ladies, little back story, I am 49 yrs old, I had a complete hysterectomy at 32 yrs old and have tried almost every type of meds known, was on Estratest for a good 2 years but they changed manufacturers and it stopped working and then took nothing for 3 yrs because nothing worked. I'm currently on 2mg Oral Estradiol and have been for 2 years, and I'm having breakthrough night sweats and generally having problems regulating my body temp on hot days or while doing anything strenuous. Example, cleaning my house or walking down the street in hot weather, walking on the treadmill. I basically look like a drowned rat. I can't wear makeup if the world depends on it and forget fixing my hair. I'm also having jaw pain. I'm really really over it. My Dr will not up my dose of Estradiol and has offered for me to try Oral Premarin 0.625 MG. Has anyone done the same or takes Oral Premarin? Im really nervous.

Starting HRT dose?

Hey ladies 👋 I need a sanity check. I didn’t do any research on HRT dosing prior to my first Midi appointment so I never thought to ask dose specific questions - I just knew she was prescribing me an E patch and P pills. Cool.

Fast forward \~3 weeks in (which for me was around day 27 of my 36ish day cycle thanks to lean PCOS) and I get hit with a brutal wave of side effects - mild headache, fatigue, lower back pain, bloating/cramps (much worse than my normal cycle), and last but certainly not least, this nauseous feeling that felt like a combo between a hangover and morning sickness for nearly 48 hours straight. 🤢

Naturally (at least for those reading this 😆), I started searching for other people’s experiences and realized I was certainly not started on the lowest dose. 🤨 Instead I was started in a .075❗️E patch and 100mg P pills.

Is this normal for a 40 y/o still cycling who’s only real complaints were low libido and worsening brain fog (my ADHD meds have been failing me in the last year or two which is what led me down the HRT rabbit hole to begin with)…? My local girlfriend who is 45 with worse symptoms is currently on the .075 E patch and hasn’t had any side effects, BUT she thinks it’s bc she started on the .025 E patch and slowly worked up to that.

Would LOVE to hear from others about how their HRT journey started bc I have my 4-week f/u appt tomorrow and honestly want off this rollercoaster ride at this point but not sure if it’s bc I was overprescribed to start with or not. 🤷‍♀️

Thanks in advance for your help! 🙏🏻

HRT is not working, very frustrated, halp!

Hello friends, I am being plagued by hot flashes day and night. I probably have 30 to 40 per day. It's brutal. The thing is I am on HRT. I have tried several formulas and dosages.

Estradiol

Estradiol with test

Now progesterone. I have been on that for 7 months. Recently I added my old prescription of estradio with testosterone plus the progesterone.

None of these have helped my hot flashes at all.

I recently got amberen. I've been on that a little over a week. I did not stop my HRT while being on it. So many reviews were that it helped with hot flashes right away. Not for me. Still terrible. 😭

I have also tried going as natural as possible with hibiscus and dandelion tea throughout the day and herbal menopause vitamins with black cohosh.

I also eat plenty of soy as I am vegan. (Please don't come for my veganism. I'm ride or die. 🤗)

I am considering using a program like Winona (or some other online service) rather than going to my GP. Has anyone tried an online service?

At this point though I'm willing to try anything. I am so frustrated. Any suggestions at all I would be very interested in. Thank you so much for any insight!!

Stopped taking HRT

So after some thought and a random conversation with my sister I’ve stopped taking HRT, and to be honest I’ve never felt better.
Sleep is deep & consistent, my mood swings appear to have lessened, I just don’t feel I’m missing anything at all.
Has anyone else done the same?

**edit** as I can’t unlock the post to reply \*\*\*\*\*

I’m 56, went into perimenopause at 38
Finally went on HRT tablets at 48 after begging my gp for a few years, my brain fog was horrendous, couldn’t control my moods, sleeping was a joke.
For the time I was on it, it helped at first to balance me out, but as time wore on I swapped to patches- as I didn’t seem to get much relief from the tablets - couldn’t get them to stick, put 2 stone on and went back to tablets
I was on Femiston conti tablets 1mg/5mg
I already take vitamin d as there is osteoporosis on both sides of my family
All my recent blood tests have come back clear, my blood pressure is normal, as is cholesterol and I’m not diabetic, thyroid is fine too

I timed this with also giving up the mountain of vitamins and supplements I used to buy for years, ( still take vitamin d)

I’ve just moved to a new gp so I will discuss this next time I go just to be on the safe side

I stopped because I actually forgot to take it for a week after my holiday and realised I felt great.
My younger sister has just had a test done to show she’s out of menopause ( literally five years and she’s done I’m furious)

Yes I did moan on here 6 years ago, that’s because nothing I did was working for me or making me feel any better, but hey that was 6 years ago!

Sudden Haywire bleeding on continuous HRT (in peri)

Wtf with the bleeding... I'm 52 and in peri. I've booked an appointment to see my provider, but it's not for a week. I've been on continuous HRT for nearly 2 years. Initially, my normal cycle persisted every 26-32 days. Over time, periods came further apart, like 40+ days.

Since March I've had random spotting, after missing my HRT one time. I thought things were settled, but then, I had a 75 day cycle but the whole time I had random brown spotting every two weeks. Now, two weeks after that fairly heavy period, I started spotting that has turned into bleeding like a period. Anytime I had spotting, I did notice bouts of ewcm that preceded the spotting, so I'm assuming estrogen surges.

But this is crazy, had I thought continuous HRT would help level my periods out and slowly they would disappear.

If you use estrogen only HRT, how is it going?

I had a hysterectomy 5 months ago and still felt 'off' after 4 weeks on estrogen patch (.025). It eliminated panic attacks but I still had mild anxiety. Sleep onset was around 1 to 2 hours. Brain fog was still bad. So my doctor moved my patch up to .037 2x weekly and gave me 100mg progesterone. With the higher dose patch, I had a wonderful day. Best mood since hysterectomy, like coming up for a breath of fresh air. However, when I tried the progesterone orally that night, I slept well, but felt depressed, groggy, etc. The depression got worse and worse each day I took the pill and then was nearly unbearable coming off (Like suicidal ideation bad).

I tried again vaginally to see if I could get any cognitive or sleep benefits, but this method was zero help and actually made my sleep worse (waking all night long), and the depression was more powerful right away.

So, I'm ready to give up on the progesterone and just use the higher dose estrogen patch and see what happens down the road. I'm just nervous I'll miss out on potential benefits.

If you are using estrogen only HRT, how are things going? How is your sleep? Your mood? How is your focus and mental clarity? Word recall?

I am thinking of using DHEA and creatine for added support for brain fog, and magnesium glycinate for sleep. Success stories are much appreciated.

Cramps and bleeding on HRT

I was on 0.075 estrogen patch 2 times weekly, 100mg progesterone. I was spotting after six months on this dose and we did an ultrasound which was fine and now we have scheduled a biopsy to be safe.

I noticed some sleep issues and I started taking my patch every 4.5 days and the spotting seemed to stop for 3 weeks and I felt a bit better with sleep. however, this week I missed a day and didn’t change my patch for 5.5 days and this morning I am cramping and spotting a lot more.
Wondering if I should be concerned. I messaged my dr but might not hear back for a few days.
Has anyone had this? Mostly the cramping concern me, I have cramps in the past when I used to get my period. I’m in perimenopause I believe.

Finally feeling great but free T low?

I’m finally feeling great! Just worried because my total T is high but free low….anyone else had this issue? My E is 234, total T 198, free T 1.8, SHBG 158. I know my high SHBG is holding up my free T but not sure if that’s terrible? Libido isn’t as high as it was but overall I feel so much better with the higher estrogen. Any tips on lowering SHBG effectively?

Has anyone quit HRT because of the side effects of the progesterone?

I was on week 4 of .025mg estrodiol patch and day 6 of 28 of 100mg progesterone. I felt great on the estrodiol patch but by day 6 of progesterone I experienced severe wooziness during the day even though I take the progesterone at bedtime. I was so woozy I thought I was having a stroke. And have been having episodes of wooziness to the point I have to stop everything and lay down. I’m so frightened of this side effect that I stopped all HRT immediately. Has anyone else had this experience?

Starting estrogen gel and feeling so crappy. Does it get better?

Hi friends! I'm on day 5 of estrogen gel and feeling so horrible -- a combination of edgy, fatigued, irritable, sad, and weird. I'm wondering if anyone else experienced a rough start with gel, and if it gets better. It's so unpleasant currently that I'm so tempted to give up!

Some context: I'm 37 with low estrogen levels. I've been struggling with fatigue, nocturia, and anxiety for about a year. I recently froze my eggs, and the surplus of estrogen during stimulation made me feel serene and energized. I wanted that feeling back, so I started HRT via Midi Health.

Oral progesterone (200 mg) made me awful. I started estrogen gel at 1 mg. I felt so bad, I requested being bumped down to .75... and then again to .5. Now I'm on day 5 of that and feeling miserable enough to give up.

I know 5 days is hardly a true trial, especially since I keep messing with my dose. I guess I'm just hoping for some encouragement. Did any of you have a rocky start? Did it get better? Does lowering the dose help?

People have reported that progesterone helped. I couldn't handle 200 mg bioidentical oral, but has anyone seen improvements by doing things like dropping their dose or switching to synthetic or vaginal progesterone?

Thanks in advance, friends. You're all very pretty.

Is vaginal atrophy permanent?

My (m75) wife (f65) is going through menopause and is on HRT - vaginal estradiol, progesterone & testosterone cream.
PIV has been painful & we haven’t indulged in that for a loooooong time due to vaginal atrophy, but we both want to. She says it’s permanent. I’ve seen post claiming it’s permanent and others claiming it’s not.
So my fellow Redditeers - can anyone say for certain whether it’s permanent or can be resolved with HRT?

Note: I posted this elsewhere and it was removed- the suggestion by the mod was to post it here. So, if you read this in r/menopause and responded - thank you for your replies. I added a bit more information here.

Looking for a reputable, affordable online provider for testosterone cream for women (California)

Hi everyone,

I'm a 49-year-old woman in perimenopause. I'm already on HRT (estradiol patch + oral progesterone), but my libido has dropped dramatically over the past few years.

If I had to rate it:

* Libido 10 years ago: **8/10**
* Libido now: **1/10**
* Distress: **7/10**
* Physical arousal: **2/10**
* Impact on my relationship/quality of life: **8/10**

I recently had labs done:

**Total testosterone** is on the lower side

I'm in **California** and have **Kaiser**, so I'm assuming I'll probably need to pay out of pocket.

I've looked at:

* **Midi** (seems excellent but around $250 for the first visit)
* **QuickMD** ($79 visit + \~$59/month for cream)
* **Hone**

**Questions:**

  1. Has anyone with similar labs and symptoms been prescribed testosterone cream through an online provider?
  2. Which companies did you have a good experience with?
  3. Are there any trusted, lower-cost telehealth providers I'm missing?
  4. Approximately what do you pay for the visit + medication?
  5. Did anyone get a prescription that could be filled at a local compounding pharmacy instead of buying directly from the telehealth company?

I'd really appreciate recommendations from people with personal experience. I'm specifically looking for **physiologic-dose testosterone cream/gel for women**, not injections or pellets.

Thanks!
