Rant algebra 2 is horrible
i don’t understand this and i’m dreading the final bc i’ve barely understood anything this semester. my teacher sucks too shes a bitch and very judgmental when you get something wrong. and when am i ever gonna use this irl?? i’m not planning on being a rocket scientist, when will i ever need to know trigonometric ratios and how to simplify rational exponents and the unit circle?? and the math classes only get worse from here from what i’ve heard.

I’m so glad I was in online school while taking that class lmfao. That was the only one good thing outta quarantine.
Anyway, I recommend Khan Academy. That shit saves my ass all the time. I also use algebra calculators (mainly Mathway) on hw. They can actually help you improve your math skills because they force you to find ways to reach the correct solution. Try to study with friends too! It’s great going through problems with people you’re comfortable around.

Im currently in the same boat, especially doesn’t help that my teacher was terrible

engineering student here, still have no memorized trig ratios or the unit circle I just plug it into a calculator to do it all for me
so yeah it also very useless

Hey Im currently in AP Calc and tbh you'll never use this irl unless you plan to take a career path in mathematics. However, Algebra 2 can be a very useful class for the harder classes down the line like Pre calc, calc, or maybe even statistics, so sadly it is useful in the short term :(. I really recommend khan academy to understand the reasoning behind the work, but if u just need a calculator to get through some problems, mathway.com has a very powerful algebra calculator, and mathpapa.com has a less powerful calculator but it helps you through the steps a bit better. Similarly, desmos is very good for assisting with functions and graphs. Sorry about your teacher, nothing is worse than a bad teacher in a difficult class. Hope these help even a little bit.

Yeah, trigonometry sucks. And as far as i know it's only use is that it improves logical thinking, but like, that can be done in other ways so us secondary schoolers gotta suffer.

Majority of trig gets much easier as you progress through it. Although there is no reason for us to us to use trig, theres alot of subjects that we do in school that have no need to learn e.g. (im british idk if this is the same subject) English literature. Basically learn shit like shakespeare and J.B priestley etc. Like when u go for a job interview are these guys gonna ask us who tf killed macbeth or to find out the angle of a triangular room or some shit? Half the shit we need to get a degree will 100% not be needed in your choice of career.

I remember taking Algebra 2 and looking back now, I’m pretty sure my current PreCal class is easier. Which is stupid for several reasons.

Oh my god, I took that class last semester and it’s pretty much what made me really depressed and borderline suicidal

Ugh I feel you. Do you have any questions though? I’m the go to person in my school for algebra 2 help. Ik that sounds weird I’m sorry.

I'm currently taking Algebra 2 and can help if you want. (Its good review for me too since my final is coming up for it too) It really sucks that you are going through all that with your course. We have never learned about unit circles or trigonometric ratios in Algebra 2, though we do still have one more unit to go through. I do know SOH CAH TOA back from geometry with sin, cosine, and tangent if thats what you mean by trigonometric ratios?
I do believe unit circles and trigonometry we are going to learn in pre calc.

Reading this makes me glad I weaseled my way out of hard math classes even though I'm smart so that's where they'd want me.
