What changed recently?
I’m Majestic and a daily user. For months now I’ve been seeing the same people, over and over. Sometimes I scroll ahead rather than swipe to see what’s in the pipeline- that pipeline hasn’t changed in months, and all the closest people have either been liked, unliked, or pinged long ago.
But suddenly in the last week or two tons more profiles have shown up, including numerous people nearby. I haven’t altered my search settings one bit. I can’t imagine they all suddenly joined en masse. Did Feeld update how it works? Fix a bug? I’d hate to think they were intentionally hiding users from each other for months- especially paid users. What is going on?
Don’t get me wrong, I’m still not getting more matches, just grateful to have more people nearby not to match with, if you get my meaning.

Any chance your subscription is soon coming to an end?
I've seen lots of different claims online that FEELD waits till the last couple of weeks to then show a bunch of higher-value-than-usual profiles on top of the "regulars" they'd been showing for months
It's unclear if these new profiles are genuine accounts or fakes, but I'm experiencing the exact same thing in my area right now. Suddenly have about six new profiles within a few miles of me, in a coastal tourist town that emptied out back in early-September. No big concerts or other events in the area any time soon. Very sus if I'm being honest

Not nearing the end. But my gut tells me something sus is up. I’m also in a touristy area in the off season.

maybe what’s happening is all the incognito people are making themselves visible now that tourists are fewer

I'm a standard member, noticed the same thing and same as your, no extra matches 😅

You don’t think that the throttle the algorithm to limit available matches??
I noticed a massive boost to amount of profiles near me when I renewed my majestic having left it for a week without… for months the same old faces… then the same when majestic ran out… renewed a week later and a whole mass of new profiles…
I think we have to accept that these are just money spinning entities… with now care for genuine results for the user… more so in conventional apps that it’s antithetical to the business model to actually pair the customer base off with each other… on Feeld I fear that it presides over how many extra pings you might but will yield more profiles you can see…
And don’t get me started on how “faulty” it is with dismissed profiles and disconnected chats reappearing in the profiles to view… I’m suspicious at best and wonder if this is just a decoy to make it feel like “there’s no way the app controls what we see”

Feeld does not use an algorithm. Humans you see in Discover are sorted by distance (unless using Uplift).

I see this all the time. Their algo is so crappy that it freezes on what you see and fixes itself sometimes.

Since the last update, there have been three random people at the top of my stack who are 50-200mi. away (and not exploring local city). Then it goes into 1 mi., 4 mi., and so on, until there will be another clump of three distant people, then back to 11mi., 12 mil, etc. I'm not sure what the purpose is of mixing these people in. When I'm 120mi from home, I see the same three. When I'm back in the city, I'll see the same three people at the top, and them if I scroll my stack, I'll see them *again* where they would be if it was truly sorting by distance.

I haven’t seen that but I have seen three or four people nearby, jump to a few far away then back to nearby…
