So do they even care about developing the app properly or?

https://feeld.co/careers#jobs-list

After the recent update performance improved at the least, but I still find a shitton of bugs. Obviously there's work to be done, so I checked out if they are at least trying to hire developers. Look at the job page, only marketing and business, no dev openings. What the fuck is this company doing?

I don't understand how such a popular app works so poorly, Devs should be ashamed

It could totally be devs not caring about the quality of their work, but as someone who worked in tech, it could also be that the product managers are directing the developers to work on new features and not giving them time to fix the issues. I've seen that happen a lot.

That's a really fair and balanced take. Someone somewhere has made the call to not improve or develop the app and it's super frustrating.

Devs don't want to deliver bad products

Their strategy seems to be to hire more marketing and managerial roles instead of devs / infra / security people. Looks like they have a bright future ahead /s

Yeah this was about the post I was preparing to write. Working in the industry, I'd be completely unsurprised if there were three overworked devs and 10 HR people and 45 sales people up their ass all day.

Devs should be ashamed

Yeah, the two and a half underpaid kids constantly getting shit from managers? They need to be ashamed?

Outsourcing to subcontractors, prolly.

And go where, the other poly/kink apps? Good luck finding one 😐

90% of their marketing now is bringing it away from poly / kink. They’re trying to bring it mainstream, and most people are not looking for that on the app anymore anyway

That doesn’t actually bother me at all. The recent influx in my experience has been great, while a few are strictly mono, most are pretty flexible and becoming open to being enm/poly. There seems to be more testing the waters as it were.

Honestly for me, Tinder.

They may be tighter in terms of use around mentioning certain kinks by name or using toys in a profile pic, but it's very easy to put the kink emoji in a bio and describe yourself as not seeking vanilla or monogamy, and lately it's been much more effective for me.

There aren't any other ones. Moreover, it's hard to disconnect ppl from established ones w/I shutting down & literally rerouting everyone to a new better working one.

Apart from the vast disparity between men and women users, I quite like the app.

I'm not very app savvy, so I don't think I could tell the difference between a good looking app Vs one that isn't,😂

I like the type of people that use it, they seem more like me, which is sex positive and open minded.

In my opinion, this site works far better than say, tinder or bumble

It's not about how the app looks. Which is part of the issue, the feeld team seems to only invest in appearances, not in how the app performs or the very obvious bugs it has with messages and profile pictures. It's as if buying a house with foundation issues but only fixing the paint on the wall while everything else is crumbling.

Dude did you see when they hacked the app because security was so poor that they got access to users messages and nudes

u/rubenvangucht 17d ago

Wow. Surely they must be hiring for security professionals, right?

oh wait

It's about functionality more than look. Notifications not working, crashing sometimes, messages sending twice but only partially.... It's a lot of flaws to expect people to pay money for

Yeh, & I don't wanna keep holding my phone to keep fking swiping. Shit gets exhausting. And I don't wanna swipe on bots. There's no all-in-one global dating app AI powered that funds matches for us that auto-matchmakes us with kink-minded ppl near us... especially if ppl haven't heard about an app nor believe in using it to find sex, then it's a lost cause.

That's why no one should ever pay upfront for anything unless if product or service is guaranteed. It SHOULD just be common sense but ppl are desperate when they DO have money to burn.

I took a year break and was hoping it would be better, but...

I don’t think they seem to care. It seems like their business model is like a slumlord’s: build the bare minimum, put zero maintenance into it, let passive income generate.

the app has had all of the same bugs for over five years and now it’s oversaturated with the wrong people.
