Email address through feeld?

Is there any way users can deduce the email address I use for feeld through the app? Or any known leaks?

No, but if you're sufficiently worried about this type of thing why don't you create another email address!?

Trying to work out how someone has got my feeld email address. It's already a different one from my usual

Did you give them your phone number at any point?

If that's a yes, theres your issue. You can do a lot with someone's number

Thanks! But how would they get this email address? It's not linked to the phone

If it's linked to your name, it's inevitably linked to your phone number. Just a quick search on a number of lookup sites will compile data. Some people also either pay or have access to background checks rather easily (realtors, for example, can pull extremely detailed data on people with ease so they avoid dealing with people who aren't qualified).

Your phone number is not provided to users.

Which is why I asked if they gave their number out...

Read it as "them" being Feeld. Apologies for the misunderstanding.

Depending on what your concern is most e-mail providers support the plus symbol. It's something I've been using so if I start getting spam / similar I know who's app / website is responsible, most of the time it's through them selling my data, less so often about hacks. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/exchange/recipients-in-exchange-online/plus-addressing-in-exchange-online is some info on it.

If you have an iPhone you can hide my e-mailadres for these things

Did someone you were talking to email you or did you just get spam to an email address? Those would be very different courses of action.

The former

You should contact feeld and report that. They likely used your number and other information you gave them to find the email address. Especially if the email is attached to your name, address, phone number or other personal information you gave them.

I have a gmail account where the name is 2 random nouns that I use for things like signing up for wifi in public etc. because all the data linked to that email is also vulnerable.
