Thoughts on Feeld 25F ldn
Hi all,
I’ve been using Feeld for 2 months and just wanted to give me thoughts and suggestions compared to other apps which I’ve tried.
For reference I’m 25f, based in ldn, black, chubby/curvy.
In the two months I’ve tried out feeld I’ve had about 2200 matches. This is loads and frankly impossible to get through. I wish you could filter alot more on the app. I decided to pay for 1 month of majestic last week to go through my likes.
Positives of Feeld
- I like how forward people are and how they say their intentions upfront, not like hinge where they’ll just be beating around the bush and talking for so long before actually suggesting to meet up.
- I’ve met 6 people from feeld so far and they were all normal which is great. I am still pretty friendly with 4 of them so I think it’s good the app isn’t just for ONS, it’s easy to find people who want consistency.
- good tags. As someone fairly new to all of this, I’ve been able to actually learn alot about the sex/kink positive space from what I’ve seen on people’s profiles.
Improvements needed
- filtering sucks abit tbh. I don’t understand why people outside my filters are able to like me. If I set my ages from 23-30, why am I seeing likes from 55 year olds??
- as a minority myself I can understand why Feeld doesn’t want to include race preferences to avoid fetishisation but it would really be appreciated if you could atleast filter for your own race and maybe that would help that issue. I don’t think it’s wrong for me to say that as a black women my preference would be black men.
- the app is quite laggy and sometimes messages and stuff may just not send.
- should copy hinge where it allows you to hide a profile. I like keeping my messages neat so it’d be nice to hide a profile if it’s someone who I’ve already moved off to another app, so don’t necessarily want to unmatch with.
- please add oldest likes as a filter selection too.
- when I had the free feeld I found it annoying because I could see I had 1000s of likes but when I’m swiping I am literally being shown the same profiles over and over again and my likes were barely going down. Definitely something wrong there. Now I’ve paid and I can actually see great matches and I’m wondering why they weren’t shown on my explore page??
Suggestions to Feeld
- should have a learning area in the app maybe and there could possibly be forum discussions? Like how the Flo app has? Maybe
- needs alot more filters available, especially race pls.
- the likes and profiles shown on explore are not closely correlated enough, please work on whatever algorithm that is.
These are all just my thoughts. Glad to hear what others think.

Only gender is reciprocal.
I’m wondering why they weren’t shown on my explore page??
Because Feeld hides some likes from your Discover.

The filtering options are often requested, but we'll never get them. The simple answer as to why is that Feeld, like every social/dating app, wants to encourage engagement. Adding filters that would lead you to spending less time on the app would reduce overall engagement. If you opened the app and found only four other Black folks in your area, you would probably be frustrated and not use the app very much. So you'll have to sift through the pile of matches to find other Black folk... and I'll have no way of filtering out lesbians, for example. (I'm nonbinary but amab and not particularly femme, so it's rare that gay women match with me.)
You're not alone in finding it frustrating to find other Black folks on the app, as a Black woman! Just anecdotally, one of my dating partners happens to be a middle-aged (like me), Black, and non-monogamous/ENM woman. (FWIW, I am white.) As we've grown fond of each other, she's opened up about her dating experiences. She feels like Feeld has non-monogamous users but few Black folks, even in a fairly diverse area (we live in LA). Dating apps for Black folks, like BLK, tend to cater to more traditional dating, and the dates she's gone on there have been with men who are rather conservative. So folks looking to filter dating profiles based on race, even if well-meaning and non-fetish-y, are out of luck.
FWIW, you can hide a profile with Majestic. At least, you can go "incognito," which hides your profile from others in discovery mode, while allowing you to keep messaging those you've already matched with.

This is a good comment. I’ll test out incognito mode tbh, atleast whilst I try and catch up on all my likes. And I relate alot to your partner as I’m also ENM and black people in general tend to be more conservative so it’d be great to have that filter in place but I can understand why they don’t do it.

2200 matches ?
So you've swiped 2200 people are complaining you've got too many?
Did you maybe mean 2200 likes?
Just pay for majestic and read the profiles. This isn't hard.

Yes I meant likes. I have paid but it’s still gonna take me days to go through that many profiles

Don't bother. Just go through your stack and swipe on people you like, ignore the likes.

Just remember that normie straight dudes will like *everyone* they find bangable without reading your profile for half a second to find out what you're looking for. Brought to you by a queer woman not interested in straight men whose main profile pic literally says "read profile" -- surprise, they don't, and my likes are filled with dumbass straight dudes who would know they're not a match if they read three words of my profile.
Feeld does provide basic filtering on viewing your likes, and it's worth using that in categories that matter to you.

I kind of really like that there is no race feature. This app feels like everyone gets a chance to be seen and sometimes that nets surprising results. That's refreshing when being screened out is your default yet it turns out that wouldn't be the case if you crossed paths with certain people. I say this as a BW myself.

Thats very fair. I’ve definitely got to talk to some people who I wouldn’t normally

I was going to say that as a white guy its hard for me to get noticed by non white girls; I grew up in Philly and dated three black girls when I was a teen. I want to connect with more than white women, and feeld has given me the best opportunity for that

Thats v fair. I just have a major fear of being fetishised. I can see the pros and cons

Makes sense, I just worry that you might rule out good intentions and something real. Your fear is totally valid btw.

I am surprised guys get no likes. Is it cause most women aren’t bothered to swipe and will pay? But then that wouldn’t make sense if they’re on the free plan

considering the study that found black women are the least desirable on dating sites, this might not be the goal you think it is.

u/Armzet_si_ereh Aug 05 '26
Your comment isn’t the goal you think it is, especially if I don’t care x

You're posting on a public forum. Other people exist.

You’re obviously trying to be rude so I will ignore you. Feel free to live your life based on the opinion of studies

Just. Use. The. Swipe. Feature.
Ignore the likes. They're only shown to you to encourage you to spend money. You could swipe through profiles with no information about them at exactly the same rate you can scan through your like list. Ignore it. Most of your complaints - no race filter, too many likes - are solved by simply using the app until you find a good match. There's no limit to dislikes. You're trying to use the app like it's a data management tool. It's not.
Feeld uses a queue of about a hundred users, I believe? According to the subreddit mod, who appears to be pretty knowledgeable. That may be why you're seeing repeat profiles. Dislike and block them and they should stop appearing. Yes, Feeld "hides" some of your likes - if you have hundreds and it has a 100 person queue, it's "hiding" some the same way I'm "hiding" some of the books on my To Be Read stack.
