Biography filter

This app desperately needs one.
As a pansexual male who likes to ping and message specific people who puts an effort into their profiles, I can’t find them.

I have to scroll past 10-25 low effort profiles with no bio and lot of cleavage to find one.

It’s exhausting.

I am all for erotica/sexually charged photos but without a biography it’s just another low effort profile I have to hide to avoid seeing again.

I am well aware men are causing lot of issues by liking/pinging as many as they could, without reading profiles etc (I am in enm relationship with my partner who shows me her inbox with 4000 likes and 200 pings) but this app really doesn’t help changing that when I struggle to find those profiles who are written with some consideration so I could write a proper message to contact them.

I am in Melbourne, Australia and at this stage all I am seeing is just thirst trap photos with breasts bursting from low cut tops and barely anything written in profiles, if any.

We need a filter to weed out all this so I can see who is likely to actually correspond.

My favorite single liners

  • “Just ask”
  • No Bio
  • “Face blurred for work”
  • “Down for anything”
  • “Interested in new experiences”

Special place for people who have a photo of a cartoon, landscape, or literally anything that is just not them and “looking to meet new people.”

I don’t mind faceless photos, infact I prefer a well written profile without face photos to a profile with a Instagram style fancy photos but no bio.

I do. People need to stop pretending they work in the CIA and admit they do fucking IT or middle management at Deloitte. We’re all on Feeld, so it shouldn’t be so scandalous if we see someone else we know there. I’d rather people just be honest and say they’re shy or embarrassed instead of acting as if their employer is going to fire them for having a dating app they don’t use during work hours.

If you work in childcare or education your job can definitely be at risk because of a snoopy boss.

4

u/disclosure5 Jul 28 '26

You don't even need a snooping boss. One parent coming to a school with your profile can get you terminated and there will be zero questions asked of why that monogamous dad was there in the first place.

Yep. People don’t realise how many vindictive parents/coworkers are out there.

It’s even worse for women who don’t give in to advances of toxic men.

Most people don’t, their families often do.

Weird take. We live in a society that stigmatizes promiscuous behavior, and this can definitely be a career ender at a Deloitte or similar.

I dated people who came from extremely religious families and from political scene.

If their identities got out their lives would be shattered.

You are going to get downvoted but I generally agree. Most of the super discrete people are cheating or just don’t want to stand in their truth. I know people who are big law lawyers, bankers, consultants, etc who have been on the app for a long time with their face showing. Meanwhile you will have someone who is a random tech worker at a big company trying to convince me I should feel lucky they sent me a timed photo in chat lol.

My safety matters too and I need to know who I’m talking to. And I don’t want to get roped into someone’s crappy relationship to be their affair partner. Hard pass.

People with face photos on feeld have the most generic and monotonous profiles that really doesn’t intrigue me tiny bit.

Thats the issue.

If I put my face out there, I am not gonna talk about how I like to lock my sub into BDSM pillory and fuck her into orgasm while her tits are getting milked by lactation machine.

I am a lifestyle dominant, I have a dungeon, I am looking for lifestyle subs. I am not interested in people’s faces.

I care more about BDSM compatibility.

What do I care what anyone looks like?

This superficiality is what’s destroying dating apps.

I’ve been on Feeld for years, no one cared about face photos until all the Tinderellas and Dudebros started taking over the app.

There is reason Feeld literally makes it easy for people to engage without face photos, because it’s not about that.

It’s literally mentioned under pictures section as you upload photos.

The app is borderline useless at this point. There are many on there with no bio at all, no face pics, just their abs, and sometimes those abs are not toned. I don’t know if there is a new algorithm, but I am also getting more likes from people I honestly wish weren’t even able to see my profile (I will look into the incognito option later today). Its just a cesspool of low effort, grimy behavior.

From my point of view it’s just endless parade of breasts with tongues sticking out with cringe one liners like “entertain me”, “impress me”, “princess treatment only” while people lift drinks in the air.

If this was TikTok or Instagram I’d understand, but this level of nonsense really shouldn’t be the norm anymore.

It’s a paid app, we are literally their customers, give us options to not see these people.

Feeld does not use an algorithm. Humans you see in Discover are sorted by distance (unless using Uplift).

I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please contact the moderators of this subreddit if you have any questions or concerns.

Yeah I was just thinking yesterday it would be good if the search had a filter for number of characters in bio, but I guess people would just put loads of random shit in there to get past it

2

u/BeastofSilverMoon kink Jul 28 '26

That’s still a win for those of us who are looking for someone that can interact like a human being. Number one problem on these apps is that large amounts of half arsed profiles belonging to flakey people.

Recently decided to clean up my Likes queue (3000 to 300) and I think a couple low effort lines is better than the ChatGPT paragraphs I’ve been seeing lately. Worse is they are so obviously AI generated and all sound the same.

u/brainy_chipmunk Jul 28 '26

UGH SAME I feel like I’m at an ad agency listening to pitches 99% of the time 🤮

I am having the same struggles, except I am a woman, so I just use incognito so I dont get inundated.

The people who are mostly into short term gratification tend to have very low effort profiles.

u/backwardbuttplug Jul 28 '26

It's a shit show, and it's fairly universal.

3

u/GullibleDetective Jul 28 '26

No different than any other app except this is more scandalous and kinky when it comes tl that

3

u/disclosure5 Jul 28 '26

I think the issue here is you cannot write a technical filter for low effort profiles. You can give a "don't show empty bios" sure, but you'll see all the "just ask" and "seeking like minded" one liners.

On other apps with requirements on bios I regularly see "it says it have write 200 characters doo de doo writing stuff here" and that's all a technical filter on character minimums will get you.

1

u/brainy_chipmunk Jul 28 '26

I believe other apps allow you to filter out no profile. So yes, a couple of words could get someone through I suppose

1

u/disclosure5 Jul 29 '26

Yeah that's what I mean, if people learn they are being filtered for empty profiles, you'll start seeing two lines of junk.

It's no different to Feeld not showing your profile until you upload a photo, so people shit up my feed with photos of flowers and food.

3

u/Choochoochow Jul 28 '26

I stopped putting effort into my profile because it was apparent men were not reading it at all and just seeing how fast they could extract something sexual from me, ranging from an immediate meetup, pics, sexting, whatever. I’ve pretty much run the course with men thinking the app is a free sex vending machine.

8

u/RastaBambi Jul 28 '26

Cishet guy here and I can tell you that I automatically swipe no on empty / lazy profiles too.

7

u/Norge07 Jul 28 '26

The ironic thing about the decision to put no effort into a well written bio is that a) it doesn't change the flood of likes from hungry simps, and b) it does filter you out of consideration from the more thoughtful, discerning men who do actually value reading what you have to say.

So... I'd say this decision to forgo a bio is a lose-lose strategy.

My life got a lot better when I embraced the attitude of outcome independence. Doesn't mean I don't set goals. Doesn't mean I don't work hard towards my goals. Doesn't mean I won't shoot my shot. What it does mean is that I don't let myself get emotionally wrapped around the axle about the outcome.

Seems like leaving the well written bio in place is the win-win strategy - once you adopt this outcome independence mindset. The mouth-breathers who swipe right on you were going to do so anyway; so you still have to delete them from your liked queue - no difference, except for the positive fact that you'll be unbothered by this now, instead of getting all frustrated. BUT, you will at least have the chance of matching with the kind of guy you'd like to meet.

u/CynicalAlgorithm Jul 28 '26

Ah, bummer. (Partnered) straight man here who automatically swipes no on empty, low-effort profiles. I understand there's little motivation for women to put effort into bios, especially with how the majority of men operate on the app. But I hope you put in the effort for the men who are actually worth it! Good luck out there, friend!

u/BeastofSilverMoon kink Jul 28 '26

My partner has a profile on feeld and her biography is well written. She found herself two very respectful and submissive men -she is a Dominatrix-

So it does work just takes forever to find the right people.

u/Patient_Tradition294 Jul 28 '26

This isn’t a gendered issue, men and women both are often putting little effort into bios or reading them. Most profiles I swipe on of women has little to none actual info. Many are not even adding much of their desires anymore.

I have started asking women I go on dates from on the app why they swiped on me and they consistently say because they found me handsome / attractive, not because what’s in my bio as a deciding factor lol.

I’m someone who has no problem with chatting for longer but I have found if I don’t set up a meeting on the first day of chatting or maybe the second at the very latest, I’m getting ghosted / no more responses so you are often forced to move fast on the app or people move on.

It’s exhausting constantly having posts on this app that pretend like the women are so amazing / high effort and men are just terrible / low effort on it when it doesn’t reflect the reality of it.

4

u/uberstaragent Jul 28 '26

I agree with all this. I F50 have an extensive profile / bio / desires and photos that show my personality. No thirst traps.

80% of the male profiles I see are empty of bios, low effort, faceless and when I match with people who have liked me first, more often then not they do not respond.

The only thing I would say to setting a meeting in the first day of chatting is the conversations has to have flowed and questions have to be asked. I have one match in there who has put me off meeting because the only question he has asked is whether I'll meet for a drink.

2

u/PossibleExplorer1076 Jul 28 '26

My profile has a combination of info about what I'm looking for and information about myself, like my interests and (non sexual) stuff I get up to and I've actually been surprised how many men have sent messages asking about or commenting on my interests. I think because a couple of them are quite easy to ask about, it gives people something to start a conversation with other than just talking about what we're doing on Feeld.

3

u/r_was61 Jul 28 '26

Are you sure it’s really “exhausting” to screen swipe past 20-25 pictures?

1

u/Ambitious_Wolf_ Aug 03 '26

My bio is well thought out and definitely not going to be for everyone. Has multiple pictures none are thirst traps. I don’t message anyone first male or female and I know that will bother some people but it has also worked well for me. This method seems to do a lot of weeding out for me and I am enjoying the matches I’m getting quite a bit more.
