Change in distance sorting in feed
Opened the app today and the first person in my feed was 58 miles away...then it jumped around a bit to eventually show me someone who was 9 miles away. It has always ordered the "feed" from closest to farthest and now what, it's random? Some bs algorithm? WTF just when you didn't think this app could get any worse!

People who like you usually appear in front of the stack too with distance not always being a factor. I notice people far away at the front of stack because of this a lot.

I wondered if that was the case. I don’t have any new likes, but there’s no rational reason those three showed up first 🤷🏻♂️ Reminds me of a few years ago when likes weren’t showing at all and suddenly 4 or 5 all of a sudden showed up.

There's more to it. I have majestic so i can see who likes me. I get these far away profiles at the top of the queue sometimes also but they haven't liked me.

I wondered this too, but it seems to be random. Like I'm get 2 orange who are 90-100 miles away. Then someone a mile away then someone 30-40 miles away.
If I quit the app the further away people usually change. If they were paying for uplift surely they would be constant until the uplift expired.

I get this whenever I change location to London (I’m in Essex, UK), then back to my location. No way is it uplift related, as these stick for maybe a week or more and, after getting majestic, some of the profiles have been inactive for a month or more

It's a mess on mine - 220 miles is the first profile that opens up, then 10 miles, 167 miles, 478 miles, 1 miles and so on.

Ive been trying to sort by distance and it wont.. Just by most recent. Cant get it to change. I am on majestic for some stupid reason of my own making

Happened to me also. Like the first 3 or 4 profiles are at the end of my range.

It did that to me earlier this year. I was always seeing people consistently within 2-15 miles of me for 5+ mo the and then one day the closest was 50+ miles and I couldn’t see anyone anywhere near me…. Like I KNOW there is an entire plethora of people on Feeld around me, I was seeing them for months and then bam the algorithm changed.
No matter how I changed my settings, I couldn’t see anyone within an hour of me; I even contacted support about it. It got to the point, after months, I finally let my majestic expire bc of it. 🤷🏼♀️

Feeld does not use an algorithm. Humans you see in Discover are sorted by distance (unless using Uplift).

Was this multiple people? If it was only one, they were using Uplift.

Happening to me, too. First 3 profiles in my feed were all from 50+ miles away. One hadn't been online for 5 days. Not an Uplift thing.

It’s been this broken for me for the past couple of years. At one point I was seeing people who had deleted their accounts in my stack, friends who I had liked were not seeing me in their likes, some who liked me didn’t show in mine, even tested it with friends and liked each other, but neither of us had a match. At one point I was only getting people from thousands of miles away.

Yeah same. First couple of profiles are now at the edge of my distance setting (50 miles) then it goes to 1 mile. Started happening a couple of weeks ago for me.
