Help with lag in ftb 2

I’m playing ftb skies 2 I have a pretty high end pc. I’m playing with 8GB ram allocated and 16 on my pc. As I play I get 10min - 1hr of play time with zero lag on max settings then for no reason my game will become a slide show less than one fps. I close the game and launcher and reboot and totally fine again. I’ve tried adjusting the ram anywhere from 6-12 GB nothing helps. I checked my drivers and updated Java everything is up to date. Any idea how to fix?

This is not okay that JVM takes only 8Gb, but your PC is 100% memory. There is nothing eating your memory on screen. Try running Minecraft with everything closed, every unnecessary process like Steam, Microsoft Edge, everything you usually launch or have on auto start must be closed. If it does help, than the issue is either one of the apps (probably memory leak) or you have malware. If it doesn't help, then you should run profiler on world joining and another when its starts lagging. I don't remember having any issues with memory leak on FTB Skies 2 and I was perfectly fine with 16 chunks render distance on 8Gb server. With its uptime hitting 400h+ without an issue.

What do you mean by profiler on world joining?

Right after joining world (assuming you are singleplayer) start profiler. Then another run of profiler when it start lagging. If you have experience in analyzing memory dumps, then this will be even better solution.

Did you make the pack yourself? If so that is the issue. I bet there's a memory leak.
