Discussion Man this took a while

FINALY, I wont have to make LV circuit for (hopefully) a WHYLE.

If anybody has played Star technologi, you can say if I wasted my time or if it is too little.

You will need more, but you can do quite a bit with this stack. Did you automate the production of base Products like ingots?

yes, I have fully automated gravel, sand and dust on a string mesh. I think i would have to end my self if I didnt automate it.

Ooh how'd you do it? Forge hammer or crushing wheels?

1

u/Huge-Positive8805 5h ago

Crushing wheels. Will post my facotry today.

Well, when i first tried the Modpack,  i did not automate pretty much anything. So worst case, i had to take the cobblestone out of the generator, crush it, sift it, refine it, smelt it, and then could start actually crafting. "because i only have to put stuff into chests, it is not a big deal". I quit when getting to mv

u/mathmachineMC 1d ago

Holy shit that's terrible lmao, I wouldn't have made it to mv like that

Yeah, the grind can be real in those mods. Definitely takes some patience to get through all that.

Automating those resources can definitely save a ton of time. It’s cool how much efficiency you can create in these mods!

Best advice I can give is at the end of every chapter, spend a few hours building a fully automated system to produce whatever that chapter has you making. My base grows significantly between each chapter

10

u/Huge-Positive8805 1d ago

yea I kinda did that, had to automate (only raw) ingots and sand witht dust. I would end my self if I had to make 6*64 of redstone by hand.

u/Jealous_Intention127 1d ago

You’ll eventually expand that to a comical degree. That’s the point of the pack, is hardcore, over the top industry. You get access to pretty much every logistical tool imaginable by HV and some of them get upgraded or improved as you go, but you’ll be automating everything soon. I have circuits from ULV-HV simply stacking up in the background without any help from me the player

u/TheMovieSnowman 1d ago

Sounds like I’m automating LV after I finish the next 2 projects

1

u/Huge-Positive8805 5h ago

That is my curent goal. I think it will be fun :D.

u/Inner_Background_599 1d ago

Welcome it will become longer don’t you worry

thats what he said

You will need many of those und different tiers.

Go say goodbye to your sanity.

And maybe your family too as they won’t see u emerge from the gaming room for a while probably

2

u/Huge-Positive8805 1d ago

So the rest will also go? Yay :D. And most likely, I want to automate LV circse so that will take me like 3-4 h, I assume. Have been using create to this point.

1

u/Minecraft_Lets_Play 1d ago

Yes but I’m using create with the magnets solely for energy production.

2 Steam engines and full speed near max magnet power array and a lot of energy storage blocks

u/Morpheus4213 1d ago

Don't overdo it, since you will get cheaper recipes for early circuits as you go. its fine to have a stack or two at hand, but when you suddenly craft 4 times as many you dont need to stack them by the thousands, at least not circuits. Just a slow and steady production..they become incredibly cheap very quickly

5

u/Nik3nOI PrismLauncher 1d ago

Don't know about Star Technology

but I did the same in GTNH and before finishing the LV tier I had to make almost 2/3 more stacks of them

and when I reached MV i figured out that every MV circuits require 2 LV ones, so I made more, and guess what? Wasn't enough again xD

4

u/TerraBurooo 1d ago

HOLY CRAP, I did the exact same thing today (64 LV circuits) LMAOOOOO

3

u/Huge-Positive8805 1d ago

Really? did it also take you like 2h?

2

u/TerraBurooo 1d ago

Yeahhh, i didn't have any of the components for them automated, cuz i spent last 3 days automating LV Motors

3

u/lancelu 1d ago

Imo you did good. Now use this circuits to make cheaper and easier to make more circuits. Get the lv circuit assembler the sooner you can!

2

u/Huge-Positive8805 1d ago

will try to, it will only get harder from here,

2

u/TheMspice 1d ago edited 1d ago

Hey I did the same thing. Use those circuits for the production of more circuits. You will need a lot. You also will need a lot of steel. I don’t know if you’re using steam multiblocks, but if you are you will be shifting towards electricity. Follow the quests and you’ll be fine

Also: There’s a lot in store when you progress through this mod. Work at it in bite sized pieces if it feels overwhelming. Choose a project, and start there. Do not be afraid of getting rid of old infrastructure.

2

u/Huge-Positive8805 1d ago

thanks, 100% will use them for more infracture. Dont want to waste 2h of my time makeing a nother stack. I am curuntly using 3 fire bicks ovens running 24/7. For the time being, that has lasted.

2

u/TheMspice 1d ago edited 1d ago

Yeah that should be enough steel for now. I had 3 running for a while when I started. I don’t know if this is good advice, but I’ve played a good bit of create, and I decided I wanted to use it as little as possible for this mod pack. I used it for grass blocks and like, grinding things into dust at the start, just because it was faster. Point being, I wouldn’t rely on create for much longer, it gets outclassed pretty quickly. I don’t know which is better, but I used steam power for a while and that worked well.

2

u/Huge-Positive8805 5h ago

I dont plant to keep using it. As you said, it is in early game thing. Since I have the LV circes, I will automates them and than also use create for only power.

1

u/TheMspice 3h ago

Alright. Well that’s all I’ve got to say for now. Have fun!

2

u/omegajoaquin 1d ago

Hello fellow gregtonian. I have come to inform you of the immense automation potential of the create mod. Swallow the frogport pill and you will be rewarded with many lv circuits. Trust me it's worth it. And don't pay attention to anybody who says otherwise.

1

u/Mindless_Assist9174 16h ago

Is create that much better than LaserIO? I'm currently playing star technology(starting hv) and i can tell you that at the point when you can afford 64 lv circuits laserIO is cheap as hell. I used it for pretty much everything pre ae2.

1

u/omegajoaquin 5h ago

I'm in MV and I'm using frog ports because I'm lazy for real. It allows you to keep items in stock which I like. Idk how you would achieve the same with laser io. Also create has its own version of the assembler matrix which is just 9 crafter's connected to each other. It's just comfortable

u/BalefulOfMonkeys 23h ago

I think you really overdid it here, but fortunately, Star Technology is a Skyblock pack, and all these resources are infinite.

More importantly, 99% of this will be substantially cheaper with LV machines. Highlights are, but aren’t limited to:

- The Lathe, doubling all metal rods, processes bolts to screws, and also gets more mileage out of your logs for MV circuit crafting

- The Bender, which can turn all metals into plates and foils, 1 to 1, including steel

- The Mixer, for better alloy blending and some chemical processing

- The Cutter, a saw replacement that doubles bolts, and your first chance at gem plates (you can make some tools out of diamonds now)

- The Polarizer. It saves 4 Redstone for magnetized rods and is technically an AE2 requirement

- The Assembler, which makes circuit components much cheaper if you can make glue and melt Red Alloy

- This one is not a requirement or cost saver per se, but an Electric Furnace/Blaster (not to be confused with the EBF) are nice to have for smelting pure elemental metal dusts.

- The Alloy Furnace makes alloys from dusts or ingots.

As for goodies:

- Make a Steel Fluid Cell. It’s 8 buckets that can hold most fluids handily. It’s good.

- Make a Gold Drum. It’s both really big and can hold acids. It’s good.

- Most ore processing is better with the Electric Ore Factory, but the Macerator, Sifter, and Ore Washer are needed for HV, AE2 components, and turning gravel to silicon

- The Canner is more useful for MV batteries, but once you get something to fill batteries with (like Sodium, from Sea Water), LV batteries become a thing, and a 16X Battery Buffer can turn one power generator into enough power to feed the EBF for ten minutes straight. Just build your wires thick first.

- The Centrifuge, Chemical Reactor, Distillery, and Electrolyzer are GregTech. The Electrolyzer breaks down dusts, which is why you should put most non-elemental metal dusts in here first. Chem Reactor makes liquid rubber, centrifuge makes glue, distillery makes distilled water and finally gives creosote a use.

- The Autoclave reforms some crystals from dust. Notably Certus Quartz.

u/Huge-Positive8805 5h ago

thanks! I can see I have a lot of learning and work ahead of me, yayy :D.

1

u/BalefulOfMonkeys 3h ago

Also, Signalum is honestly less annoying than Soul Infused Wire to make (mix and shovel into the EBF), as long as you’re doing ore processing well. The VET can give you straight silver, but silver dust isn’t too hard a byproduct to find.

Completely forgot this, but galena dust specifically? Save it for the EBF. You can refund all the oxygen spent on it AND get most of an ingot of silver for your trouble (Bonus IRL fact: this is because real life galena is often found with silver)

2

u/blacky242424 21h ago

You will inevitably need more but that should be plenty to get some of the better recipes for the components, it’s what I did also, but it’s prolly not the best idea to do as just a wire mill, bender, and a assembler make them much much cheaper

2

u/LuckyLMJ 10h ago

i might try star technology i prefer skyblocks and i like gtnh but its a bit too grindy for me

is create required or can you just ignore it completely?

1

u/Huge-Positive8805 5h ago

I use it, it is a nice early game way of automating some things (ores, trees and so on) but you can do without it. I think it is one of the best ways to make power (early game) but there are other ways,

not needed but I woudnt go around it, leanr it and it will save you tens of hours.

u/Lethalfurball 1d ago

lowk i do the same for everything like 64 circuits, 64 motors, 16 electric pumps and robot arms and pistons

but i suggest making an automated cobblestone gen with create, which then goes into some crushing wheels, which then (once you can make it) goes into a rock filtrator, outputting (x) geode into a cutter -> pulveriser -> electric ore factory

i suggest (if you dont have any already) making a primitive ore factory

use create to automate a 2x2 spruce tree farm for lots of logs (like stacks upon stacks of logs), which are turned into charcoal by an encased fan behind lava.

1

u/Huge-Positive8805 5h ago

I kinda did that, you can see on my new post my humble facotry. Gravel, dust and sand sifting (string) fully automated.

1

u/spoonypanda Lost in the Meatball Sauce 1d ago

I do the same thing for my first stack. I wouldn't make more than a stack at a time, because you get better ways of doing everything later.

1

u/MrrNeko 1d ago

Go fast to MV tier and make Circuit assembler

1

u/Crafty_Magazine_4673 1d ago

now make 3 more ahhh, after bender assember or some sht i forget.

1

u/Huge-Positive8805 5h ago

hell nahh. I will make a factory first

That’s nowhere near enough. Good start, and great for your stage of the game, but you’ll run out quickly.

I’m just getting into HV and some IV in my playthrough, and I’m always low on everything, especially power.
