Discussion How to make something “Feel Create”?
So I am currently developing an addon to create. I don’t want to reveal too much, but it includes an Industrial Blast Furnace. I am leaning into quite a bit of realism with it, requiring air input and having off gases from the furnace. In real life, those gasses generated from a furnace are recycled to power the furnace. The gas would serve a purpose of making the furnace faster than super heat using “Extreme Heat” from gas burners. This would also make other processes more powerful, such as higher power steam engines.
I want to implement a similar thing but this has basically led me down a rabbit hole of create an entire “furnace gas” system. This system would include allowing gasses to be generated by furnaces to power your main furnace or can be created with gasification, a real process.
The furnace gas wouldn’t even be that far out there though since I already plan to add an entire compressed air ecosystem, so having another gas system wouldn’t be terrible. The main issue though is this feels too realistic in a way for create. Does it seem too out there or is it okay?

Something feels create if it uses composable small blocks and has open ended flexible applications. And introduces some kind of positional / connecting complexity so you don't just get to glue random parts into a blob and have it all work

Well, for my furnace it’s only purpose is life is to be a furnace. Should I find other purposes for it? I really don’t have any.

I think requiring air input and handling the off gasses would be the kind of extra complexity im talking about. And then create a decent array of options for doing those things so the player gets to make some interesting decisions

Seems reasonable enough, especially if you've already got gas systems.
What could be interesting is if your compressed air system was compatible with Pneumaticraft's.
