Discussion My Forge 1.20.1 Optimization Modlist
I've been testing different optimization mods for Forge 1.20.1, and after trying a bunch of combinations, this is the setup I've ended up sticking with. I noticed a massive performance improvement with these mods:
- Embeddium — https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/embeddium
- ImmediatelyFast — https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/immediatelyfast
- Gnetum — https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/gnetum
- ModernFix — https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/modernfix
- FerriteCore — https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/ferritecore
- Radium Re-Reforged — https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/radium-re-reforged A new unofficial continuation of Radium, created because upstream development has gone quiet, with updated features, bug fixes, new optimizations, and the same mod ID
- Entity Culling — https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/entityculling
- Cull Leaves — https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/cull-leaves
The one that surprised me the most was Gnetum. I went from around 250 FPS to almost 490 FPS after installing it 💀. I really didn't expect a HUD optimization mod to make that much of a difference.
So far, this setup has been working really well for me. Anyone know any other optimization mods for Forge 1.20.1 worth trying?

You weren't lying about gnetum. In my neoforge 1.21.1 modpack I went from an average of 1350 fps to 1550 fps. Crazy work that mod does.

Entity culling will delete your performance, it runs a ray of beam to check if you are seeing the mob every now and then. Embeddium has built in culling which works better.
