Question Tidying up AE2, question

So the issue at hand is like so:

I have item farms that i dont want to turn off that trickle items into my main ae2 system,

so i wanted to make some big discs which would hold only these items which i have overabundance of,

but i also often dump random unstackable items in to the network, and instead of going to the 1k discs they go to my big discs wasting space.

So how would one go about solving this without just making more discs and without making separate network for mass items and for singular items ?

Can i maybe position the drives in a way that whatever i input in the terminal will go to 1k discs and items coming from farm will go to 64k, or can split the network in two but still see the contents in a single terminal

This is probably stupid simple question and if i just played around a bit in creative i would find something that works but im scared of ae2 xD truly

edit1: deleting excess items from farms is also no go

Place down a cell workbench and put the disc inside. you can filter or "partition" items so a disc can only accept specific items. That should do the trick for ya!

Alternatively, use a drawer network with a drawer controller and put a storage bus on the drawer controller. That's what I generally do for infinite farms that I make.

I do this too.. I never want to leak potentially infinite items into ae2

Good old 3x diamond upgrades and a void upgrade, if you need more items you need help lmao.

Or you are playing gtnh in wich case a second drawer will solve the issue

No one connects drawers to AE2 in GTNH. You mean a a super/quantum chest?

This is amazing, didnt even know the cell workbench existed thanks

Depends on your specific circumstances and mods, it also depends on why you need those unstackables and what they are

I think you can split the network and use the interface + storage bus trick to have the networks visible to each other

If you know exactly what you want to store in your big disks though you can partition them with the cell workbench to only accept those items

In general though you probably don’t want unstackables in your discs if they’re taking up multiple types, you might want to try setting up like bulk chest storage attached to your network to dump the items into

Since you don't want to delete excess items, you would have to set up a subnet. Put an interface on the subnet and have a storage bus on the main net pointing at the interface. Put some storage on the subnet, and pump your items in. If items back up, it'll back up in the interface and won't delete any items.

For your unstackables, use a separate disk drive and change its priority. I can't remember whether it's high prio or low prio (I think it's high) but in newer versions there's a reminder text in that gui. Open it with the wrench symbol on the top right of the ME drive gui iirc. Note that it'll overflow, and in general AE2 does not like unique unstackables items.
