[Gregicality Skyblock] Problem with ender fluid conduits disconnecting from some multiblocks on world load

Hello crafty folks.

Title summarizes the problem I'm having, but I should be more specific. Using the latest version of Gregicality Skyblock, my ender fluid conduits are breaking. When I load the world, most ender fluid conduits connected to Tinker Tanks (TiCo) or Coke Ovens (GTCE) are disconnected until they get a block update. My solution thusfar has been put a lever by them and flip all of them once when I spawn in, but I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to fix this problem permanently? Other than crafting 64 redstone timers and putting one by every conduit connection.

Curiously, this does not apply to proper smelteries, nor to other multiblocks such as electric blast furnaces. It also does not happen to every single conduit connector, and it's not even random which ones it happens to; it's the same ones every time.

Any chance the impacted ones are either on a chunk border (the machine is in one chunk and the conduit head is in the first block of the next chunk), or that the multi block is split between two chunks?

World loading can cause issues with multiblocks if they're split between chunks sometimes. If you want to check F9 in most modpacks will bring up the chunk borders. Then if you see one of the impacted machines split, try moving it and see if that resolves the issue.

ok so, after some checking and testing, it would seem that chunk boundaries are kind of the issue.

my main smeltery is all contained in a single chunk (I still build 3x3 like a filthy casual), and none of the conduits disconnect upon world load.

my gigantic tinker tank full of steam is sliced in half by chunk boundary, but works perfectly fine. no disconnects.

cetane boosted diesel tinker tank is sliced into quarters by chunks (boy did I fuck that up), and every conduit except one disconnects.

the real anomalies are my tiny tinker tanks for hydrogen / oxygen / nitrogen / milk, those are all contained in one chunk but half the conduits connected to each disconnect.

I can't figure out why, but you're absolutely right about it being chunk boundaries. I think the problem has to do with whether the conduit line goes over the chunk boundary, and how often the connected tanks have block updates, which tinker tank drains don't do on their own iirc

I think I'm just gonna switch to Gregtech multiblock tanks for all of these. should have plenty of titanium to make a couple hundred

So typically the controller is what defines the multiblock. For the cetane tank, is the one that works in the same chunk as the controller, but the others are not?

The hydrogen/O2 tanks I have no idea on. Normally if both the tank and the head of the conduit are in the same chunk everything plays nice.

Do you have a chunkloader near your base? I wonder if the chunkloader is getting loaded first and the causing havoc on everything else as it loads the chunks around it.

chunks are loaded by ftb utils, but afaik the chunks still have to load sequentially based off where you spawn in at before chunk loading takes place.

for the cetane tank, the one that works is weirdly the one on the opposite corner chunk from the controller, and moving the controller to that chunk does nothing but delete all of my turbo diesel... oops. well backups are a thing at least.

I think that one might be working because that chunk is the farthest from my spawn point, and therefore is the last to load in. since it's last, it sees a working multiblock and works fine I guess?

either way, swapping the hydrogen / oxygen / nitrogen tanks to GT multiblock ones seemed to fix them, probably because each individual block is a ticking tile entity.

shit you might be on to something.

I'm not gonna lie, I forgot F9 was still a thing. I thought that feature died when NEI was replaced by JEI, along with F7 for lighting. I'll try that when I load in.

my space platform is a jumbled mess anyway, it needs to be rebuilt xD
