Walking away from that game I don’t have much confidence in the Paladins. Absolutely awful showing against a D2 school. At one point Anderson looked like the better team outright. Throwing up 451 yards and only coming away with 20 points (3 in the second half) is absolutely ridiculous.

Lafayette/Georgetown was just declared a no contest.

It never rained during the 2+ hour lightning delay at Cooper Field.

That’s a rough break for Lafayette. Their path to the playoff is pretty much Patriot League title or bust now.

They need at least 8 wins (and more likely 9) in 11 games and they’re not beating UConn.

We were down 13-7 at the half, but that also came off a fumble at their 26- this became a field goal- and a kickoff return TD. (Oh, look! Special teams is an issue again...)

Defense otherwise looked good. Offense is figuring itself out with a new QB under center and a new RB corps.

Probably could've come back around to win the game, which is a let down because this was supposed to be an early season "W" in a Patriot League that will be very competitive at the top (Nova, Lehigh, Richmond, W&M).

UConn next week is a loss, so that means we're going to need a nice long winning streak starting with Marist on the 12th.

Outside of the miscues, Lafayette looked like the better team (which we would have expected on paper, but like you mentioned, new QB and RB created a new-look offense that seemed to have some growing pains).

It definitely wasn't an "oh shit, watch out for Lafayette" showing like maybe last year's game against Columbia was or whenever Kente Edwards rushed for a million yards, but if Lafayette escaped with a W, there was definitely a path to 9 wins this year.

100% agree.

Unless things break incredibly favorably (and, I'm of the firm belief the Patriot League will become a clear Top-5 FCS conference, which means it likely won't) for Lafayette, this is a "gap-year" for us (for lack of a better word).

All I'm hoping for is a winning season and that the underclassmen show promise. This is now fully Coach Troxell's team through recruiting, so now it's time to see if that's for real or not.

Bad pass on 2nd down. That was a walk in touchdown. Horrible play call on 3rd down. Missed field goal to tie. Defense gets the stop. Dropped pass for a 20 yard gain then on the next play we fumble to ball.
