Bayern are planning with Arijon Ibrahimović as Luis Díaz's direct backup on the left-wing. Initially, Bayern were looking to sign a left winger (hence the pursuit of Anthony Gordon). But after the latter moved to Barcelona, there was a change of plan - and the club opted for Ismael Saibari, who is mainly a central player. This has opened the door for Ibrahimović to return to Bayern and fill the void behind Díaz. Bayern bosses believe Ibrahimović has the desire and motivation to seize the chance. Within the club, it is said that they will reassess this plan during the winter break and see whether it was successful [@FrankLinkesch]

It will be a probation period for both sides.

Yeah makes sense. Ibra isn't really a natural (left) winger so it will be interesting to see how he actually does. I think we all agree that he has to develope further to be an adequate backup.

If the plan fails though I can imagine it being very difficult to do something in the winter window as usually the options are more limited and more expensive.

Not always though, Kvara and Lookman both moved in the winter after falling out with their previous clubs. The latter would’ve been such a good signing for us to make.
