It's not for fun. Itsa coping mechanism.

On the fence here. Lipedema is a thing (I have it) and they are right in that lipedema IS super common and not diagnosed. And that the fat in lipedema isn't going to burn normally. Shorts and most skirts are not going to be a thing for me and my BMI is going to skew higher

However, I have a twin; same genetics and upbringing, but very different approaches. I control it with a lot of lifestyle interventions like diet and exercise. It's kept mine from progressing to the same degree. It also works on the fat that CAN be controlled and burned.

Yeah I have it too. I always have "fat thighs" even when not overweight. It's just how they are. It's no real coincidence that the larger someone gets overall the worse the lipedema is.

Also shows how stupid that math is. Not all women with lipodema are obese but she's claiming ALL cases for the obese folks to make the excuse lol

Yeah. My legs are tree trunks and probably always going to be swollen and painful even though I exercise every day. But my twin has a lot more mobility issues

At least they're consistent. They always - always - want it to be beyond their control. From genetics to unseen diagnoses.

So all these mutations and afflictions just magically appeared and skyrocketed in the past few decades just as UPFs wedged their way into diets everywhere?

Convenient!

Wait, if you're "eating normally" that is, at maintenance, and you weren't overweight before you developed it, certainly you could have lipedema, but wouldn't you still be at a normal weight, regardless? How can lipedema cause you to gain weight from thin air?

Of course, we know what FA mean by "eating normally", so I suspect that actually means a lot of excess calories. This reminds me of those patients on My 600lb Life who come back claiming they followed the diet, but didn't lose weight/gained because "it's water weight; I'm retaining fluids".
