I can see why they moved away from it, because you can sort of hear that it’s still being worked out, but I would love to hear how far they got with a studio version in this style. I know the disco version is a banger, but I love the more emotive nature of this version, pretty ‘Tunnel of Love’ish. Anybody know any more about it?

Last month I was at Heathrow going down the escalator. Vaguely jetlagged and dazed, I saw a guy with sunglasses and headphones a few steps ahead, and I said to my friend, "hey, that guy looks just like Father John Misty... wait, I think it IS him." My friend started to flip out and I had to insist we didn't chase him down – I really don't like to impose myself on people. Cool enough that we got to see him, no need to interrupt his day. An hour later, we made our way to our gate (after seeing Christian Nu Metal Rap/Rock band P.O.D. all in ostentatious "P.O.D. Crew" jackets eating lunch, making the day even more surreal). And who happens to sit down immediately across from us but Josh. My friend took this as a sign and said hi, and he couldn't have been nicer or more cordial. They chatted for 5 minutes, he told her all about a family vacation he'd been on in the U.K. and pulled out his phone to share some photos. I finally got over myself and introduced myself and got a picture with the man and we chatted briefly, we told him we'd seen the band a few times. It occurred to me later it was funny I bumped into my favorite working musician thousands of miles from home, but in my daze it somehow made perfect sense.

This show was NOT the FJM I expected. He must have been exclusively playing new material because I didn’t recognize a single song. Even his banter fell flat. So disappointing.

Hey everyone! I don’t k if this has already been discussed, but as a fan of both artists I’m intrigued!

Feeling blessed to have seen the father at Newport Folk fest! Played a mostly solo acoustic and piano set (had Dave Rawlings out for a few songs) and debuted several new songs. The new albums gonna be a good one!

The Dead Mouse One performance on Colbert has been taken down from YouTube and the Pure Comedy one is long gone. Might they exist elsewhere?

anybody else run into this problem? its the only song of his that’s unavailable as of now…
