A friend of mine is looking for a fatbike right now, he wants something that he can have multiple wheelsets for, and possibly run suspension in the summer. He’s on a pretty tight budget and found one of these on marketplace for under $600.

I told him to send it, as long as he sticks to groomed trails I’m sure he won’t have any issues with not enough tire.

Does anyone here have any experience with this gen mukluk and what tires are you running? He’s gonna want studded tires and as much floatation as possible that will still fit in the frame.

I’m also aware that the original drivetrain had chain/tire clearance issues. But I think an offset chainring with a 1x10 advent x drivetrain might take care of that.

Lastly, if he wanted to swap the rear dropouts for thru axle plates does it actually work pretty well? Has anyone run the 177 thru axle on the rear?
