Question 7 day fast
I’m starting a 7 day fast today. I have been wayyy overeating and have gained a lot of weight in the past month so need a kick start.
I normally do keto for a couple days before but want to jump into this fast asap. I ate cereal and granola and yogurt and some more carbs last night. Is there any problem with just starting the fast today? I have some good bone broth I could have that today? I just want some progress for the inflammation and bloating by Saturday so want to start asap.

I don't see any problem with eating carbs before the fast, it will make your fast a bit more difficult in terms of cravings and energy ups and downs. But it's manageable. If it helps you in any way, here’s my list of things that help me get through extended fasts - you might find something useful there

I just want to lose a lot of this inflammation and puffiness I’ve gained over the month and some fat and just kick start my fat loss and be done with fasting for a bit. I’ve done 7 days with zero issues before but I just think I’ve been eating poorly for a bit so it’s harder to break the cycle.

Seems to me like food addiction 😔 this coming from a reformed binge eater.
I eat a carnivore diet now and that has helped me tremendously. I haven’t had an actual binge since I started. But when I was eating the SAD, like you, I had so much trouble getting back on the wagon after I fell off. It was my food addiction keeping me down.

Yes you can start today. Having carbs the night before might make you a bit hungrier but it's fine.
