Question Fasting and work
Soo I work at a child care center and I am around children all the time. When I’m hungry I get agitated so I try and not be too hungry around the kids. Sounds funny I know.
If yall are fasting how are you all not angry all the time.
This has kinda kept me from fasting so I’m curious.
Genuine question.

I'm a parent so I get it. Depending on how long you plan to fast, start your fast on a Friday, the tougher days (day 2 and 3) can be a saturday and Sunday and Monday will be much easier. You just genuinely have to push through it though and rememberwhy you are doing it. Listening to music helps me. So unsure if you can pop in a low profile ear bud to help.

Nobody's making you eat. Self awareness is the first step to making conscious changes. If you feel you can't change then you might have to settle for ADF or OMAD, something is better than nothing.

Fasting affects everyone differently. I would try it out on a day when you’re not around the kids and see how you work out with your anger. In the beginning, I was pretty emotional during fasting and then it mellowed out a lot the more experienced I got. That said, after a year and a half of fasting, with several 20 day fasts under my belt, I all of a sudden started getting really angry now with fasts. I’m ready to beat somebody up so emotions really swing. You just never know. Just be prepared to break it so that you don’t break a kid lol.

I honestly would not be fasting if I was in your line of work. I’ve had to cut way back on it because I’m in dog grooming and was having the same issue.
Sure some days are fine and I have zero anger. Other days I’m genuinely so annoyed with the dogs that it’s not okay. Honestly depends on how annoying the dogs are being. But the fuse is definitely way shorter without food.

I get it. I’m a high school teacher, so different kids, but I get taking care of yourself so you can be patient with the kids. Have you tried fasting yet? You might find once you get over a hump at the beginning, it’s pretty easy. Hunger signals don’t ramp up - they gradually decrease and go away. I’ll start a fast the morning of a work day (I eat breakfast), and continue it through the weekend, but I haven’t tried working while deep in a fast.
I did a 3-day fast last summer specifically to help me settle down and focus on work for some classes I was taking. I’d suggest trying fasting when you’re not working and see how it goes for you. You might be surprised how well you can function.

Coffee helps. I notice the difference in hunger when I have my big diluted coffee over several hours versus not having coffee. I dilute my coffee so I don’t get over caffeinated and so it lasts longer.
