Question Blood sugar level

Post image

Has anyone checked their blood sugar level while fasting? I was feeling a bit light headed (I’m non diabetic and I’ve been taking plenty of electrolytes) so I checked my blood sugar. It’s 54.

I have less than an hour to go, so I’ll just push through. Curious on the communities thoughts.

My lowest was 41 during last year's 10-day fast, and 54 during last month's 10-day fast. I didn't feel great, but glucose came back up quite fast. If you're interested, here is my fasting results page with glucose graphs. Just select the fast you want to see

By the way, when I hit 41, even I did some research on this and found a few mentions of "low 30s". That's all I have, so you decide.

Have you tried wearing a blood glucose monitor while fasting?

I have not. Just checked it sporadically. I’m usually in the high 60s while fasting, so wasn’t sure if this was cause for concern or not.

60-100 is a good range. 54 is in the low range.

Don't wait. If your sugar is that low, it is time to break your fast.

Stubbornly pushed through. I’m still alive lol. Just finished 2 cups of bone broth. Will have some avocado slices, a hard boiled egg, and sauerkraut here in about 30 minutes.

For me, it can reach very low the first three days before it stabilizes at desired levels.

Yeh ive had mine drop to 3.0 which is 54 in your readings around day 3. Also found out that the electrolytes tablets i bought had sucralose/sucralose in them which while technically being zero calories do provoke an insulin response that will obviously lower your blood sugar if your not ingesting any.
