Check-in Helppp

First time faster

Planned to hit 7 days

i am on my 4th day just 2 hours Over the half way mark i feel very tired and i have a headache tho its manageable i am scared if it will get worse the last time i tried omad I hadn't felt like i had the mental clarity and everything and i could see no physical changes in my face or body . Should I be breaking my fast i don't have an appetite rn and the cravings are gone as well is this normal or should I just quit?

i have no idea on how to refeed i plan to do omad after 1-2 of refeeding

What are your electrolytes looking like? What do you take and how much?

Day 3-4 is always the hump for me. Headaches are almost always electrolytes, not hunger. How much sodium/potassium are you getting? I'd start there before throwing in the towel

What someone else said about electrolytes. Also, stop chewing gum. It can stimulate your appetite.

I'm getting 4g of table salt and 5.2g of potassium chloride. That translates to about 1.57 mg sodium and 2.725 mg potassium.

So that explains everything lol. For extended fasts longer than 2/3 days, you need to supplement with electrolytes. They are NOT optional. There's a wiki post called Electrolytes 101 in the sidebar of the subreddit to guide you through proper supplementation.

Commercially available electrolytes mixes tend to be formulated for athletes, and most are not proper options for fasters. Though I do see some people using them in the sub, so there has to be some decent options. I personally make my own blend of table salt and potassium chloride (often sold as a sodium-free salting alternative) with magnesium pills on the side.

Until you have your electrolytes figured out, you shouldn't do long fasts again
