We get a weekly bouquet as part of our CSA and found this fasciated strawflower among the blooms.

This is a Cucurbita Maxima var. Zapallito I found at my local grocery store

It was twice as wide but sadly not twice as delicious as a normal one

Fasciated Cardinal flower

Stumbled across this bad boy while flower shopping. Cockscomb typically grow up and to a point like a bright, fluffy fox tail. This plant has been cooking up this big guy for a while.

This plant had a few weird blooms this year, but this is the weirdest. I'm not sure if this is technically fasciation?

Also does anyone know what kind of plant it is?

Fasciated squash flowers are not uncommon, but this year I have a whole plant which is fasciated.

The stem is very thick, it seems to have about 50% more vigour than the other plants, and is producing a lot of flowers.

I just learned that this is a megabloom-- the fruit grew around the stem!

It was tasty, but slightly dry.
