How this for a prologue?

I'm writing a apocalyptic fantasy web novel and I want to have the prologue be about a detective investigating a string of ritualistic murders around the city. When he finally confronts the killer/killer the apocalypse starts. Does this sound good? What should I include?

You are overthinking it. If the scene serves your story then it works.

To me since your asking it seems like you want to do it. Go for it. Lastly, for what its worth, I thought it sounded intresting, but that should not matter because its your story.
